So heres my question, I have inkbird controllers for my heat and air. Which works great with my old window ac unit with knob controls. However my new grow room cant use a window ac. ( also unable to mount it thru the door ) So, where can i get a large portable ac unit, without a digital thermostat control on 110 volts? .I cant really find one or is my best option to unhook the inkbird and hope the ac and heat never overlap and blow the breaker?
Ive never needed an ac even when tent temps hit 99° my girls were fine if i ran my humidifier 24/7
Huh? Im in the south so im concerned about the ridiculous amount of heat my 18 lights will put out.
Hmmm can you have a lung room with ac then have that pump in? My intake ducting goes down a 15 foot hall to a cooler room.
@SKORPION what I did when I lived south I had my lights on at night and off during the day and if I had it on 18/6 I would have the lights out from 11am to 5pm to try and control the heat and it worked soso.
Yeah did that last year during the heat wave over the summer.
When I added some space and a closet which is under 100 sq ft I put in a portable AC on a separate 15A line. However, given the size of your space and cooling and humidity control demands I would think a properly sized mini-split would be what you need.
I do not use any separate temp or humidity controllers. I have a hard enough time setting the one digital timer I use. The three or four others I use are manual push / pull pins. In other words, electronic tech is not my forte.
Agree with this 100%
Portables are almost useless as they vent the room air outside unless you buy the expensive models that have double hoses. Mini splits are great.
I use these. They also give me a measure of peace of mind with heaters so if the heater control malfunctions the tstat outlet will stop the heater.
Mini split , awesome i just looked at one and it was half the price of the portable ac i just bought.
Definitely get the big one!!
We have a solarium attached to the house and while it doesn’t have lights in it in the summer it gets blazing hot. It is a glass room so to be expected. They installed a standard size unit first that couldn’t keep up to the task. Had a second, larger one installed and now we just run that one exclusively.
I’m debating(for 3 years now LOL!) on having the small one moved to the garage since I just put a 4x4 out there. Honestly I don’t think I’ll need it since there’s no windows out there and it’s insulated even if not climate controlled. The mini would actually be more for my comfort than the ladies, but it would sure be nice!
If you can install it yourself go for it, if not I’d make sure I knew who did personally. Loose lips…And even in legal states theft and strong arm robbery still exist!
Mini split is the way to go in the hotter areas (unlike myself I use a window AC because we only get 2 months of hot weather)
Run your lights at night for sure.
Why would you need a heater though? If it’s warm… I’m lost on that one.
Tag me @SKORPION or I’ll miss the reply. Sorry life is mad busy right now
