Trying to use tap water, but EC is 0.8 before putting any nutes in. Would thatccause any problems because after adding nutes it goes to 1.0 for seedlings (1/4 strength)or over 1.5 later in veg and flowering. What would you do?
Subtract out your base PPM (EC) when mixing and measuring your nutes.
Seedlings don’t need supplemental nutes.

Does that mean, if it says 0.8 on the nutrients bottle, it should be 1.8 EC on ec pen? Would that not burn the plant?
What nutrients are you looking at using. That would add some good info to get you started.
