Still burp jars if dried too long?

So I cut and hung my Northern Lights last week. I could never get the stems to “snap” so I may be looking for the wrong thing. Either way, the buds felt crispy so I went ahead and cut everything off and put em into jars after hanging them for 8 days.

The humidity in those jars after sitting overnight is right at 58%. Now, I know it hasn’t cured, but also know I don’t want it to dry out any more. Do I throw in the boards packs now as the outside probably dried too quickly? Do I also keep burping with the humidity that low already?

If the flowers are already dried you don’t need to burp anymore. I would recommend putting some Boveda packs in there to bring the humidity back up.

I dry for the same period, then jar and monitor. I watch for the humidity climbing (mine usually does) if it climbs above 62% then I leave the lid off. If it stays at 58% then I need to add humidity. I’ve used boveda packs, a lot of growers use freshly cut leaves, choice is yours but I would monitor for a little longer. Keep it dark and maybe raise the temp a touch. It’s a balancing act now. When you get it right your humidity will sit bang on and not fluctuate at all.

I’ve even stuck a slice of apple in the jar and removed it when the humidity get back up :v:

I generally put the Boveda packs in after about 3 weeks in the jar. Once crispy, it can be a Catch 22. You don’t want it to be completely dry as it will affect the taste. I like my buds feel like soft cotton balls. :+1::+1::+1:

I throw a paper towel on the dope and chuck a slice of lemon in for a day. It really doesnt take much to hydrate your dope in a jar. I do burp the jars every so often to allow the chlorophyll to escape, i hate grass flavoured grass!
