Day 1 for these helmet heads that I will transplant into 7-gallon pots and grow in my new 2x3. The pots are all set up and waiting. I have myco bliss to sprinkle on the roots and in the hole when the time comes.
The other 2 Gelatos are slow to come up, but I can see the helmets near the surface. Any minute now!
The Gelatos were slower to come up last grow, too.
2x3 tent ready to go minus the exhaust fan. Its still in the box. The two 7-gallon pots already filled the tent lol. The pots are bursting out of the plant caddies.
My attempt on raising the temps using the lamp while keeping the light rays down with parchment paper. Want to get out of the 60s for these pups. Is this cheap or expensive? Silly or inventive? Using light heat while not using all the light energy on the plants might be wasteful, but it might also keep my head above water during this cold spell.
The parchment is working, albeit to the demise of the lamp at 100% light. Temps in the mid 70s and humidity in the 40s. I have the clear cups that I sptriz inside with water as domes. The lower temps/humidity in the pic are due to my forced hot air heat which creates a very dry atmosphere. Only 10-12 DLI on the seedlings with the lamp at max power, so they’re not cooking.
5 are up. One stubborn Gelato is still down. I might drop a Sour D after Xmas if it doesnt pop. Sometimes the runts end up the best. Don’t count them out!
I have 5 babies that are more or less 7 days old today. That one Gelato didn’t sprout. It germinated, but didnt come up after a week, so I pulled it. It had a little tap root and was kind of knotted up. I now have a Sour D auto bean soaking that will take its place.
Thanks man. I’m excited about the auto transplant. Having read @Hellraiser 's thread, I’m confident it will go well, and I hope they will explode in the 7-gallon pots. Bummer he’s not around anymore, but there are plenty of other experienced folks here to lend a hand.
I will peel the solos away like bananas and sprinkle my mycos bliss root enhancer in the holes and on the root masses, then drop.
The 7-gallon pots are prepped. Tent is ready with light, a new exhaust fan (which I might switch out with the 2x4’s because this one’s stronger), timer, and new hygrometer with remote sensor! I just added water to the pots for the first time today. The soil had decent moisture when I filled them, but it’s been several days at this point, and will be a few more yet. I also gave the 3-gallon pots/seedlings a watering because they were drying out after a week, too.
pH of today’s water was 7.0. I added some down and it got there. I’ll take it in the virgin FFOF.
good deal, thats how i do it, solo cups and mykos and then in the pots. i read his journal and picked up great ways to grow. I use the FFHF for my soil though. tell me more about hygrometer with a remote sensor?
It’s a Vivosun product, so I’m sure they all have em! I believe its Bluetooth, so if you’re upstairs you can see the temp/humidity in your tent(s) downstairs. This one has 3 channels, so you can keep an eye on up to 3 tents if you have the sensors. Mine just came with 1.
I have 14 gallons of soil in the 2x3 with two 7-gallon pots, and 12 gallons of soil in the 2x4 with four 3-gallon pots. Two plants in more soil with less space, or four plants in less soil with more space? Which tent will win the harvest?
