Starting the grow, 1st couple of weeks

This talks about topping

Good questions… you can practice your topping on one or two so you have an idea and comparison… it’s simply pruning easy stuff, no magic go for it they are very ready to handle it. And like Vet said light is dependent upon how much room you got or how much smoke you got left? Lol
They look fantastic super healthy congrats…

Wish i had started a month earlier now as it’s getting more difficult to get with the current crisis, i defo want them finished sooner rather than later tho!!

I was a bit naive with how long the whole process actually takes but that’s part of the learning process i suppose. :upside_down_face:

The flipping lights i was thinking was half the size you want overall and as i do have limited space il get the measuring tape out tomorrow :straight_ruler:
Thanks for replies :grinning:

Us potheads are pretty resilient & I’d even venture to say the majority is clever. LoL
You’ll handle whatever they throw at you in regards to height issues. Bending, tucking, pruning or topping will solve that issue if it even becomes an issue. I wouldn’t say naive just impatient…like us all once we smell and see the fruits of our labor. LOL

DAY 53 (from seed)
DAY 11 (lights 12/12)

Just a quick update, switched lights over to 12/12 11 days ago, using 900 LED lights now, my auto watering system doesn’t seem to switch off so watering has been a bit hit and miss, don’t think il use it next time, manual seems easier and at least you know what they are getting. :grinning:

Around 7 - 11 days is when I usually start seeing pistils and start the flowering count. Just FYI so it can help you gauge flowering time from what the strain stats are. Congrats on getting this far your almost there. Now the fun growth happens. Good luck

So 8 DAYS ago i had a total disaster, my whole tent collasped, 2 lights, extractor fan and carbon filter and 3 long poles, my whirly fan had stopped working so i replaced it with another one, i guess i bumped a pole or something and OMG it all collasped!!!
I knew it was all going to perfectly.
After having a smoke and a cuppa to get my head straight i removed the plants to prevent anymore damage left them to one side, repaired the poles and luckily nothing was broken, little tear in the flue and had to re;-tape all that.
The plants well as you can see from the pics my best plant was split right down the center of stem, another 1 i lost a big branch from and i think the other 2 were alright.
I just gave them water for 2 days in-case of stress but its day 8 today of it happening so i am going to remove from tent so i can look in natural light, i cant see anything under the purple lights,.
Need to check that they haven’t turned into males thru the stress

DAY 27 - FLOWER ~

THE BREAKS ~

@Pepperpot. If you had taped up the split right away and put a drop or 3 of honey or aloe on it I think it would have healed up without a trace.
That said. Tape it up to give some strength to the stem. Add a bit of honey and let her ride.
It should come back around enough to let you finish up.:+1:
I’ve had hurricanes break multiple branches on outdoor plants and did just that.
They finished 4 weeks later with a very full harvest.
Just keep an eye out for wilting leaves near the breaks and if none show then should be fine.
They truly are a very resilient plant.:+1::v:

That’s not how you top a plant silly… NO broken in half plants as a result of a total collapse is a win win. Very lucky how "tremendously* disappointing that could have been. This is how we learn, hands on, I’m willing to bet you make it a little more sturdy.

Bummer . Honey and tape ASAP. If you do that as soon as it happens you have a good chance of them going on without missing a beat.

Oh man, hate to hear that! Seems as though they did better than what could have been! That’s a hard lesson, but I bet you’ll be checking the sturdiness of your tent several times a day now🤣
