If they have sprouted I would turn the light on now. As soon as they break soil they will need it. Yes standard trays and heat mats are a way to give the seedling a good start.

No live in Ontario Canada near Peterborough. Still winter here but planted 8 pots of seeds today and when it is warm enough, probably May.

Day 26
Thinking my timing are wrong, as they seem a bit behind but they are growing and looking healthy to me so i’m not worrying to much.
Feeding Canna A+B half the recommended strength daily and lights on 18/6
Couple of questions 1st with the feeding nuits, do i stick to half the recommended strength or increase to the strength they say on the package as the plants look healthy to me i have just left as it is, if it’s not broke don’t fix it right?
2nd i have the whirly fan on the plants all time with lights when do i need to put on the extraction fan with carbon filter on or should i be doing this already, i haven’t put on yet as i am slightly concerned with noise but i know as they grow its going to be needed my main concern will be the smell over the noise, i think this may be what is slowing the growth down but i don’t know what to expect as my first time growing.

@Pepperpot. Plants look really good. 
I wouldn’t up the nutes just yet. Just stick with the current strength.
And no need for a carbon filter until they start to smell in flower. Earlier longer use can shorten the useful life of the filter. 
Look great to me! They will grow at their own pace
The smell will guide you as to when to start with the filter.
I also feel your plants look super healthy. I’m not sure I would change my nutes at this time. You are doing great with what you have.
I only throw my fan on a couple times a day for fresh air just until flower then it’s on 15mins./60min… Is your fan loud that sucks(lol). Sorry had too looks like the coco is coming along nicely for ya though man… kudos! Did you end up getting a light… I think I remember you saying? Your HID now?
LED i switched to 600, the HPS was really hot so i bought a LED, loads better i think, well loads cooler at least, and i hardly noticing the electric usage.
So after i read a few posts i went to do my daily water/check and took out a pot and had a sniff, woo they smell like some nice weed already, being a smoker for a lot of years, you can tell good weed by the smell so they may only be 3 and bit weeks but i’m already excited to smoke the finished bud …

As you should be… first real home grown that gets you really stoned/baked successfully is, the kids say satisfying these days… A lot of effort goes into growing a couple O’s that you can honestly take credit for. It’s hard to hold back a grin when your staring @ a half dozen or so jars of smelly buds…

Afternoon folks, hope everyone is keeping safe and staying home!!!
DAY 37 ~ So i have put my fan on now with the filter as the smell was starting to get strong, it’s not as loud as i first thought which is great.
Still feeding daily with half recommended amount + for the moment i will stick with that as they seem quite healthy, have not started the auto feed up yet just doing manually with dropper.
Lights are 18/6 600 LED’s
Someone mentioned topping to me, what do you guys think and when do you do that?
Also starting to think i will need to switch to flower at some point, will i get an indication when i need to do that, can’t seem to find much info telling me really !
I topped after the I had five nodes and topped above the third node, cutting 4 and 5 off. I just went by the guide on the site.
As far as when to flip, they will double in size once you do flip, so look at how tall you can afford for them to grow. I flipped when mine were about 32” but I had plenty of room for height with 9-10 ft ceiling. This grow I’m only going to veg about a month and flip as I’m trying to finish up a little quicker and beat the heat in the shop I’m growing in as I don’t have ac out there and it will become a sweat box
