Waiting on the purple punch to finish drying and i can throw my Zkittles fem in the 2x2 and i get my new HLG Patriot 150 tomorrow in the mail just in time so start my first photo grow. excited to try it.
I think i might try topping out, it intrigued me but when i started i thought autos would be better to start from. I would also maybe like to have a photo fem i can cut a bunch of clones from in the 2x2 and try to grow a round of them out in the 3x3 at some point, not this run but it sounds good.
I would eventually like to just grow one out with no training but my brain tells me LST is better than nothing but i wanna experiment at some point on that also. Lol
sounds like our brains work similar lol. i also want to eventually grow an auto even with no training just for comparison reasons even. I have always done a LST tie down but cant actually say i incressed my yield since Ive never grown a main cola. once my bud bank fills up a little more I hope to experiment and try new things. I want to do a photo just so that I can do more with it, but the training methods that I want to try also make me nervous. Im wack
Yeah i think we are on the same wave for sure man. I would like to try a Scrog or at least use a trellis but i use synthetics right now i flush and all that so cant have the plant not be able not move.
I am quickly pivoting to organic living soil. Have all the amendments and all that, just need to pick up the pro mix and start the process. Once thats going im gonna be learning about transplanting and all that good stuff and can try different things too with that.
I only have one grow under my belt (trimming it now) but i am so excited to learn new things and try them out. So different even than how i was when i started in Sept.
Iβm sure its better for sure, was just more intimidating at first, im hoping to try both and hopefully enjoy both but ive even heard people prefer photo taste to autos, not that they could tell in a blind test but something about itβ¦guess ill find out.
I started with autos just because of their smaller size and that I grow indoors. I havenβt really done much with them as far as any training methods go. I do one tie down. this plant i have started now I am at least going to do more LST on it to try to keep an even canopy. I see other that are experienced enough to even successfully top autos. Ive only harvested 2 plants so far one yielded a little over 3 ounces the other a little over 4, so I still have a ways to go and plenty more to learn even with autos. im just amazed when I see people do a manifold on a photo.
I can understand that. From what ive heard just have to keep it healthy so if youre experienced enough there might not be able problems. Or just try one for funsies! Lol
Exactly! Like the chonckers in 7-10 gallons that just fill a 3x3 or 4x4 alone. My gosh this plant is so amazing.
I think if you stay on it will be better, they grow so fast in veg even 2 days could be missed opportunity so i know what you mean. I have my 1 plant done and started 3 more and i am watching way more often and its been a little easier to see what i need to do this time around as far as it getting out of hand. In my first photo i have like 4 ties on my wedding cake and using some lst clips on branches. The other plants are a week and two weeks younger bc i killed my other 2 wedding cakes but tying them down even sooner and its seeming more easy to train. I love iiit! Lol
So easy to grow autos. I ordered the seeds before I did the research. I started my grow with 2 bag seeds (photo periods) that I saved from 20 years ago maybe. I moved them outside in April and harvested them in October. Great stuff. I wish I knew the name, but names weren't a big thing back then. The Sour diesel autos I ordered from ILGM were planted June 1rst and harvested August 15th. I started with nine autos in a 5x5 tent. I had to move three outside when the tent became too crowded. I got huge flowers on all the plants and had to tie up some of the branches towards the end. The outside plants were just as good but noticeably smaller. I suspect it was because of the cooler nights. Try a pack of five. You will be suprised.
I love to grow photos outside in the garden. I grew a couple of Golden Leaf photos from IGLM next to my tomato trellis. The lighter green/gold color blended in amazingly with the rest of the garden. I had planned a trip for the fall and needed them done and in jars by mid-September. I brought them inside and flipped them to flower in a few days by reducing the light to 12/12. If I waited, I would have had a much bigger yield, but Iβm not focused on huge yields. You can harvest just as fast as autos or take your time and have fun. I love autos too.
