I have my seedlings in soil/coco right now. In Peet cups. I also have there forever home in the tent ready to transplant. But a buddy of mine has been trying to get me to grow in water so I bought myself a self watering system but I already started my babies in soil and don’t have the room for the plants I have going and 4 more buckets and a reserve bucket. It would be too much for me no room. So my question is can they be transplanted into this self watering system from soil. .
Also my seedling are small but they’re around 3 and 4 weeks already from the time of germ to now. and there’s still so small. I know they are growing down first then will shoot up when it can support it’ self. But When can I put them in their forever home. They’re in a Peet cup so I won’t be disturbing their rooting system. So can I plant them. Let me know guys and thanks.
If you carefully wash the soil from them and place them into the new system it should be ok. They’ll be floating anyways right?
Thanks for the tag, but I’ve never grown hydro and haven’t a clue. @HappyHydroGrower or @Myfriendis410 may be able to help.
I actually start mine in rockwool cubes, and after about 3 weeks from dropping the beans place them in net pots with water 1" under. The airstones water them in the rockwool perfectly with bubble spray and they grow roots down into the bucket. Then lower the water as they get bigger to about 6-8 " under the net pot by the time i flower.
Thanks @MidwestGuy !
If you don’t mind me asking, do you have a picture of this system?
It can be done. There are several ways to do it. The plant may react stunted for a min but depending on the transition she may not.
What’s your thoughts on how you would change to hydro?
We like pictures…
Good luck and keep’em growin!
