Smooth mylar for grow room

Is smooth mylar ok to use for grow room

Some people use mylar. Plain old flat white paint does a good job.

The smooth stuff can glare the light causing a hot spot on your plants, same reason mirrors are a bad idea

Agreed. Diamond pattern mylar is recommended because it creates even light distribution w/o hotspots.

That’s why I was asking, have a roll of smooth mylar, just didn’t know if I should use it or get diamond

I rolled out some heavy black construction visqueen. Sprayed with glue, rolled mylar on top and covered my tent frame. split the front and sewed a large zipper on it. Worked great!

Just want to be sure with it being smooth and not diamond print it wouldn’t burn my babies

I grew in my closet for two years and had some of the space blankets taped to my walls and didn’t have any issues. The blankets were folded up so weren’t completely smooth

White paint is better and cheaper vs knock off mylar.
