I feel you on the heat! The humidity is terrible here. Yeah, I’ve realized it’s a good thing mine is only 6 paces outside the door, or who what she’d look like. I wish I had bought my indoor equipment then. I also wish my harvest would last me that long without planting an acre.
Wednesday, September 13. Day 31 of flower.
The second pic is from the side, with 2 doors open on tent right down the middle of the 2 carts. I mixed 4 gallons of Jacks 4/2 with Tribus, 5.81PH and 1.86EC. The plants got between 3.5 and 4.5 quarts each, with run off 25%-43% each. The cuttings got 3 oz each. The plant at the front left of that second pic is the Banana Kush#7 and I wanted to do some defoliation on it. I removed at least 2 large fan leaves from each branch and a few branches that were too short anyway, plus cleaned up under the screen as well.
That is from the shortest, smallest plant in the tent.
Maybe I’ll learn to take good pics one day, here is one from later with the lights on.
I’m not sure if you can tell how much shorter that plant is in the back left corner that I worked on today. I think I need to turn the carts around pointing the other way, or change how the lights are hung.
Man that tent is busting at the seams!
Yeah, I see what you are talking about with the plant in the back left. Flipping the cart around sounds great from here. How easy it looks from there, I don’t know.
Thursday, September 14. Day 32 of flower.
Today I removed both carts from the tent and vacced the floor. Did some more defoliation on the White Tahoe Cookies, returning them to the tent. They are now on the right hand side of the second pic with #1 in the back and #2 at the door. I did more defoliation on the 2 Banana Kush plants and returned them to the tent, #6 is in the back, #7 at the front. I mixed 4 gallons of Jacks 4/2 with Tribus, 5.81PH and 1.86EC. Each plant got half of their feed, the total will be between 3.5 and 4.5 quarts each. The cuttings got 3oz each. That tallest flower in the back of the tent was only 8 inches below the light before moving the plants. I moved the back light up about 5 or 6 inches, moved the center light back to the center and left it at the same height, and lowered the front light about 5 inches. The average DLI for each plant is 45 -50 and the same is true for the whole canopy with the ppfd topping out at 1150-1200 at the top of the very tallest flowers. Wattage remains 625 total watts. The largest deterrent from having things this way is watering is a little harder and removing run off for measuring is more work. I have been measuring the quantity of run off for this reason, having the carts face this way means using the shop vac for run off, making measuring quantity,PH, or EC of run off kind of pointless. I will probably measure the quantity again today and tomorrow to get a good idea of how much to feed from here on out. I feel pretty good about things now, I need to defoliate the WTC#2 at the front a bit more but I can actually see the bottom of the tent in the middle now. @Shadegrown I did remove a few more thinner branches, but bursting at the seams is a good description! The Banana Kush went 10 weeks in flower on my first grow, so I’m probably almost halfway through flower now. Here is an image of the lights set up now and the girls under the lights.
Man that’s looking nice!
It’s still Thursday, September 14. Day 32 of flower.
I took some more pics after everything was in it’s new place, It’s much easier to see what needs to be done-even in the pics. Sometimes I find stuff out looking at the pics in my own journal that I didn’t see right in my face. Some individual images under the lights, none of them seem to be suffering after about 8 hours of lights on. Thanks @Shadegrown I’m happy. Banana Kush #6.
Banana Kush #7.
White Tahoe Cookies #1.
White Tahoe Cookies #2.
With the shorter girls in the front now I can see this WTC2 needs some more stuff removed, and it’s right beside the door to the tent, so that’s nice. The run off was about 25% on all 4 girls. I’m just smoking weed and growing weed, seems hard to believe still.
I bet!!
Looking awesome in there!
It’s obvious you are not moderating the man hours he’s clocking over there.
Friday, September 15. Day 33 of flower.
I mixed 4 gallons of Jacks 4/2 with Tribus, 5.81PH and 1.86EC. Feed was between 3.25 and 4.5 quarts each, split into 2 feedings-no run off till second feeding. Cuttings got 3oz each. I removed a pretty large number of larger fan leaves from WTC#2, it still seems crowded but Humidity is coming down around here now.
It looks better under the lights. Some future candidates for Bud Porn Friday, just hope @Newt doesn’t sue me for copyright infringement.
Public domain, I believe. I think every journal needs a Bud Porn Friday!
Simply Gorgeous!
Yesterday I would have agreed with you.
Saturday, September 16. Day 34 of flower.
I mixed 3 gallons of Jacks 4/2 with Tribus mixed in with Yesterjacks remains, 5.81PH and 1.8EC. The amount fed is now between 3 to 4.5 quarts each, still aiming to get back 25% or so as run off. The cuttings got 3oz each. I removed the 2 thinnest branches from that dense plant at the front of the tent along with a few more leaves.
There are flowers hiding within all those leaves, I am trying to keep removing stuff -from that plant especially-every day. It seems to me, and I am certainly no expert, like the feed is a little too hot for that one. Nitrogen in particular, but maybe Potassium as a result of doing the MKP boost the first 3 weeks of flower. I don’t actually know and since the other plants seem to be thriving I’m not particularly worried about it. Hell, maybe it’s perfect! This is why growing a tent full of clones from the same plant would be simpler, 2 strains and each showing 2 different growth patterns keeps me wondering where to look to see if improvements can be made. I am debating with myself (inside my head, not out loud. That would be crazy!) about getting some Calcium sulfate to replace part of the Calcium Nitrate in the mix now. I’ll probably just keep feeding the same recipe I am already using, seems to work for everyone else.
That tall girl in the corner is looking very good to me.
Are you calling me crazy?!
It’s ok everyone that knows me does. Yes, I debate, joke, complain and everything else to myself out loud. Turns out, as long as you are not a threat to yourself or others, they don’t care how crazy you are.
Sunday, September 17. Day 35 of flower.
I mixed 4 gallons of Jacks 4/2 with Tribus, 5.81PH and 1.79EC. I have been feeding twice daily this past week giving half to each one before lights on and the second part 5 and a half hours later. The second pic is the Banana Kush #7, the smallest plant of them all. She is getting 96oz or 3 quarts daily with about 25% run off. She sits in front of her big sister BK#6 who gets 144oz or 4.5 quarts daily, with about 28% run off. WTC#1 gets 112oz or 3.5 quarts daily with 30-36% run off. WTC#2 is up to 120oz or 3.75 quarts with 20% run off. I have fed 3 different Jacks mix of nutrients on this grow being very anal about PH and run off every day since they were about 4 weeks old. I am very happy about the lack of deficiencies and problems so far, and we have to be half way through flower by now. I have no idea how long the Cookies takes to finish up. It would be nice to stagger the harvest over a couple of weeks.
Bk #7 may be small, but she’s rocking. That tent is looking damn fine Skippy!!
Monday, September 18. Day 36 of flower.
I mixed 4 gallons of Jacks 4/2 with Tribus, 5.81PH and 1.71EC, feed was between 3 and 4.5 quarts each-split into 2 feedings 5 and a half hours apart. Run off is between 20-35%. Cuttings received 3oz each. This is White Tahoe Cookies #1.
Tuesday, September 19. Day 37 of flower.
I mixed 4 gallons of Jacks 4/2 with Tribus, 5.81PH and EC1.79. Feed is between 3.25 and 4.5 quarts each and still trying to maintain 20-30%run off on each. Banana Kush #7.
Earlier I tripped and accidentally knocked about 1/4 of a brick of coco into a couple quarts of Jacks mix and after crumbling it up well I decided to store it in these handy square containers with holes in the bottom for drainage. A couple of those cuttings I took 7 weeks ago jumped out of the solo cups they had been perfectly happy in and into the square containers. I had to put some mild restraints on them to keep them from jumping around anymore. I poured about 16oz of Jacks mix on each, getting some run off. I lowered the HLG light about 6 inches and turned it up from 43 watts to 60 watts. Cuttings from BK#6.
Since harvest should be happening anywhere from 3-5 weeks from now this seemed to be the easiest course going forward. I’m hoping the Cookies doesn’t take the 10 weeks the Kush did in flower previously, Right now I intend to drop 2 seeds about a week before these 2 cuttings go into the flower tent. It seems I could get into a routine of having 1 or 2 plants to harvest every 5 or 6 weeks if I just plan things properly.
Sneaky bastards.
As always Skippy, things are looking great over there.
Wednesday, September 20. Day 38 of flower.
I mixed 4 gallons of Jacks 4/2 with Tribus, 5.81PH and 1.8EC. Feed is between 3.25 and 4.5 quarts each, split into 2 feedings 5.5 hours apart. Run off 28-30% each. The potted up cuttings got 16oz each with some run off, the other cuttings got 4oz each and got trimmed back. I removed about a half dozen large fan leaves in the flower tent. Here is White Tahoe Cookies #1.
