Should I tip my autoflowers & is it ok to run my indoor lights 20hrs per day. I have a LED in the middle & 600’s eitherside.
Thanks
Your fine to run them 20 hours a day. You will end up with bigger autos than if you did 18 or anything else less than 20. Generally speaking, no, don’t top auto flowers. Some people here do it with success though. I plan to top the most vigorous of my current six just to see for myself.
I am just throwing in my 2 pennies worth: I had a runt out of my 3 auto Lowryder2/Blueberry. Since the little one was lagging behind big time; I went ahead and topped it. Agree with Eagle in only do it to experiment. Here is how mine turned out as of this day.
Welcome to the forum nugnug! You certainly can top your auto’s, I top mine and have no issues. As for your lights, yes you can run them 20 hrs a day. The most popular lighting schedule seems to be 18/6 and some even go 12/12. It all comes down to personal preference, everyone has theirs. Good luck with your grow!
And there’s one of em, . So in your opinion why is the popular sentiment not to perform hst on them. How do you make it work while many other claim it’s detrimental. Just curious not saying your wrong or anything
This is my first time with Autos, it looks like the don’t get too high. Is it worth growing Autos to safe time with less yield or better to use fem seeds for greater yields. What your experience. Thanks
Auto’s are on a pre-determined time frame, if you stress them too much you will stall them. LST is perfectly fine, it just depends one ones comfort level. Some growers get squeamish thinking about botching a grow.
As I said, topping is a personal preference as is Low Stress Training. A great resource for Auto growers is The Autoflower Network dot com - (we aren’t allowed to link here). More specifically, look for a thread by “autobeast” titled “Auto topping thread, pushing auto’s to the limit”. Truly impressive stuff over there!
Will do, thanks!
Thanks Landshark, good to know. I’m very comfortable with LST as I’m a gardener in my day job. I’ve set up a net. Just new to Auto so wanted to check. I’m loving this forum.
Welcome to the community ! @Nugnug I like to fim my Autos one time after I get 4 full sets of leafs. It lets the side branches catch up an make a nice even canopy. Notice the center of the plant multiple Buds from the fim. As mention it is a preference.
just my thoughts. ILGM Girl Scout cookie Extreme AutoHelpful post Land! I am new to this auto thing, but learning all over again.
Hippie kid here growing up, so part of the chores my sister and I had was taking care of the garden. Included marijuana.
I do not mean to sound cliche’, but this is not how we did things in my day.
The Auto has changed the game completely. What used to take 16-20 weeks outdoors; can be done indoors in as little as 10 weeks.
I have learned on here that the Autos have new growers overly excited. I was one of them 6 weeks ago. I wanted to top, crop, LST, HST, pour pints of miracle grow, and expect the harvest dream to come true.
The different opinions on here I have found are based on caution! The seasoned growers don’t want to give advice that would cause a new grower to make horrible mistakes.
From childhood I have known that marijuana plants are very resilient! They had to be in order to survive animals, pests, wind, hard rain, etc, etc.
When I researched the Ruderalis plant that is the center of these autos; you find out they are Russian. Think about the Russian Spring and Summer; if they even have one. That makes this marijuana plant even more resilient.
I have had to learn patience all over again. I am already planning my second grow of Auto Tangie, and Auto NL. I will learn more in that grow just like this one. These auto flowering plants are really going to pick up momentum.
Continued success, and learning to us all.
Land,
The site you referred to is that a dot net? You had it as a .com and I can only find the .net addy.
Yes, it is dot net. I realized this too late and was unable to edit my post.
That’s what I was looking for. Thanks, they look just what I was looking for from an Auto
