I accidentally broke my Bruce banner seedlings stem when I was moving it closer to the light and also I have 2 other plants in 5 gallon pots in the growing tent. The stem had already started to lean over and I put a stick in the soil to try to stand it up and the stem broke. I have the plant in 5 gallon fabric pot and it’s been growing great for about 3 weeks, can it be replanted? I put it back in the soil and water it some. Is hope losted? Do I have to start over again with a new seed. Do have too many plants in tent?
Need some pictures to get an idea about what is going on.
This first picture is close up of the seedlings stem and the other is what it looks like with all the plants in the tent. I hope I didn’t kill it.
Looks like it just fell over. Got leggy because the light is to far away. Stand it back up and move your support loop up. No need for such a giant hunk of cane to support a leggy stretchy seedling. Looks like the other plants have wide node spacing indicating you light is to far away from the top of your plants.
Thank you for responding. What can I get to be able to stand the stem up better? The stem is broken, it did detach from the main part in the jiffy pod. I just put it back in the soil in the jiffy pod and covered it back up. Also How should I position the light better inside the tent?
What light do you have?
I see a lot of evidence that the lighting is too little.
And if the little one completely broke off then your only hope is to treat it like a clone and get the stem in some soil as deep as possible and cover it with a clear dome. It may root again but it will take 10 to 14 days.
I have a Samsung LM301B light, I got this light in a grow tent bundle from spider farmer. How should I position it better?
When I replant the stem, do I cover the entire stem with soil and leave the head out? Then can I use like small paper cup over it to make a dome or use something else to make a dome?
Thats the diodes and they are good, but what model light is it?
It should have a tag on it somewhere saying model and wattage.
Plant it and leave about 1/2 inch of the stem above the soil.
A clear plastic cup or cut the bottom off a clear water bottle so light can get to the plant.
You want to mist the dome with water each day so the humidity is high inside the dome so the plant can just grow roots and not dry out before it does.
Like this…
It might not work but you may as well try.
You have a seedling, a vegging and a flowering plant all in the same tent under the same light? Unless they are all autos, this should not be the case. Seedlings need light pretty close at lower levels so they do not stretch. Vegging if photos need the 18/6 or 20/4 or whatever you do and the flowering plant needs less than 12 hours. Not sure this is the best setup for the amount of plants in different stages. Just a thought.
Thanks for your response. Yes they are all autos and yes growing at different stages. I’m learning. I got too much going on in there. Thanks for letting me know.
Okay thank You! I will try this!!
