Borrowed this from a friend. It’s not dimmable. I got it about 16" from the dirt.

Put the back of your hand at dirt level. It should be fine if the temperature feels comfortable and you don’t feel like it’s going to burn you.

That light is probably more suitable for a 4x4, I’m guessing you should be 30” away. A LOT of wattage for seedlings. Would be helpful if you could measure ppfd or dli or lux

Well it one of the first with a blurples that is a fairly ok light. Actually. Uilt with some kind of pride. Still cost me way too much but better than any other blurp out there. Prolly get u a nice plant or 2 with that light as black dog is good equipment just super super pricey

That black dog light was probably the best thing on the market like 6 years ago, if I remember correctly it was over $1600.
when I was first doing my research on growing indoors I wanted one of these lights

Black dog still sells their lights at a premium. This will work well for you.
