Seedling growth and new to gardening

Hello everyone  this is my very first time trying to plant anything really, totally new just trying to read post and learn from others. I got the sweet mix pack and have had 2 seeds drop from damping off so i threw those out. Im guessing from over watering and watering from the top, so im going to try bottom watering next time they need water. Just trying to make sure im doing things right.
My temp is usually around 23-26°C, with humidty in 70-75%. I started them in peat pellets with humidity dome and transplanted them into small tetra pots with organic seed starter soil , with tiny bit of kelp meal, worm casing and Dynomoco and perlite. I got gentle breeze from clip fan. Any suggestions would be amazing. One plant is kinda leaning but hopefully it wont fall over like my other 2. Im on week 2 of the hole ordeal.

Welcome aboard ! Little more light. Stretching a touch. I hittem a little hard at first myself to keepem down then back off after a few sets of leaves to getem to stretch. Just me. Watch for too much light. They will talk to you.

Ok awesome thank you. I got a spider farmer SE 5000. Its got a dimmer amd i got it set to 40% is that ok? Or should i be maxing it out.

No max out. Will fry them. Maybe to 50%. Your height from plants play a factor. Can stay 40% and lower a tad. Will keep heat down lower light power. Not a lot. They do not need a ton…just a bit more i think.

I would be afraid those will not be big enough. I know people have done the solo cup challenge and gotten good results but the smallest I have tried to grow in is 2 gallon and they were problematic.

Yea i was going to transplant them into 1 gallon AC infinity fabric pots than transplant into 5 gallon square fabric pots to finish

Do you mean start in peat pellet then into these pots then to 1 gal and finally into 5 gal? That is too much chance of transplant shock. Start in something small and then transplant once into forever home maybe. I just put the sprouted seed straight into the 3 or 5 gallon planter, no transplant.
I just started a new grow today. :arrow_right: Time for a fresh start

I’ll throw in my 2¢ worth.

I don’t see anything terribly wrong with transplanting if you do it right, but if you are uncertain I’d suggest going straight to the final size pot as others have suggested. If you do decide to transplant you probably shouldn’t use a fabric pot for an intermediate size pot because the roots grow into the sides of the pot and getting the plant out of the pot can cause lots of damage.

Peat pellets and seed starter have nearly zero nutritional value so supplementing it like you did is a smart move. Many new growers leave the seedling in the starter too long and the growth tends to stall out after ten days or so.

You can prop up bent over seedlings until they establish themselves.

Sometimes the hardest part of growing is doing nothing at all. Hovering and watering seedlings too often is a common problem. Almost everyone loose a few in the beginning so you are in good company, the important thing to do is learn from your mistakes and try not to repeat them.

Those clay pots absorb alot of water. Cloth bags or food grade plastic pots are better options.
This was in reply to @KrugLife8166, not sure why it replied to you Home…

I transplant 4 times from seed to harvest. No problems and the reason I do it… Explosive root growth after every transplant.

Well i just did my first transplant and it was super hard getting them outa those tetra clay pots. I hope i didnt tear any of my roots but sure i prolly did. Starting to realize plastic is way more friendly at doing transplants. I put them in some new soil, (FF ocean, & happy frog with lots of perlite and i did kelp meal and hit them with Dynomoco Myco.

Hopefully all will be good but its a learning process thats for sure.

I always start in a solo cup. I use a clear solo and poke holes all up and down the sides along with in the bottom. Then I put that cup inside a red solo cup. Now you can see the root development and will know when it’s time to transplant. I personally only transplant once. But that’s what works best for me. Just a helpful hint so you can monitor your roots growth. :sunglasses::v::call_me_hand:

Transplant going well. I think things are going well, i just added an aerated boogie brew compost tea with air pump and stones. Added about a whole gallon to plants and sprayed some with a mister on the leaves themselves. Yall all have a wonderful week thank you all.

@KrugLife8166 I just transplanted from the same 1 gallon ACI 1 gallon bags to 7 gallon ACI bags. They were very hard to get out. On the advice of the amazing people here I ended up cutting the bags from top to bottom between a side and the handle. Made life so much easier! Just gonna have my wife sew some velcro strips on them for future use. They came out effortlessly once cut. Hope this helps.
