Seed sprout times

Hey guys and girls. First time post and first time grower. My question is I put 6 seeds (Blue berry 420) in pots outdoors it has been 8 days and no growth yet. Am I being impatient or should I give it another few days. I’m in Australia Queensland.

Goldcoast?, The normal time for growing in OZ is between september and April, google friendly aussie buds for your grow schedule. Meaning seeds normally get planted August/September.
Personal experience :sunglasses: oh and welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum! If seeds aren’t pre germinated they can take quite a while to pop. The other stuff I can’t help as much with, I don’t grow outside and I’m on other side of the world.

Are you above or below the 26th parallel ? west or east Qld ?

It looks like your daytime temperatures are perfect right now, but it’s pretty cold at night. Try bringing them inside and put them in a warm place for a few days, so they can be in warm temperatures 24 hours a day. Also, be sure you aren’t drowning them in water.

Its the length of day, if around Brisbane he will not even get 12hrs at this time of year.

A clear soda bottle cut in half or a clear plastic cup to use as a humidity dome helps maintain proper moisture for germination. I agree with placing on heat mat.

Thanks guys. I’m 1500 km north of Brisbane. 12 hrs daylight a day, length of day light and warmth, in my opinion shouldn’t be an issue.

Yes the Day temps will be fine, but your not going to get the yields from your plants as your days are getting shorter as Qld is coming into winter so the days will get shorter and shorter, a rough guage in Australia is plant seeds on Fathers day which i think is 1st September and harvest if outdoor on mothers day 12th May,
Now this is a rough guide but its a guide that uses the longer duration light periods through spring and summer for ultimate veg growth.

What would be the best way to give @Ox some extra light after sunset and to get his seeds going inside? i really dont know what resources are where Ox lives Hydro stores etc, but 6 seeds/plants will need a bit of light when germinated, where did you get the seeds from @Ox we will sort this out just dont want you to loose them seeds.

A 4’ t5 fixture would be cheap and easy if we’re talking about just keeping a handful of plants in veg.
