Seed completely separated from taproot

I used the water cup method for germination of my Gold Leaf and the seed completely separated from the taproot in the cup shortly after the taproot came out. What should I do in this case? Discard this seed and try another? Or will it still work?

Many Thanks!

It looks like it fully popped open and sprouted in the water just carefully put it into soil tap root down obviously lol

Looks normal to me.

Thanks for the quick replies! I put it in the rapid-rooter taproot down and put the husk gently as close as I could to the head of the taproot as there still seemed to be some nutrients in the husk. I used tweezers (gently!).

Nope, nothing in the husk that she needs anymore. You probably see the membrane that sometimes has a hard time letting go.

Thanks HMGRWN, that puts my mind at ease about this little guy. This is my first grow, so I have a lot to learn.

GoingGreen: that’s < 1/3rd of it too!

I think I would just plant it in some moist soil. Preferably something like happy frog.

Welcome to your new happy place
