Roots organics for seedlings

Roots organics original is what I have on hand; I am wondering if it will be okay to put Auto babies in after their initial tail pop?!? Is it alittle on the hotter side/ comparable to FFOF?

Roots Organic is nothing like Ocean Forest!

From their website:

“Roots Organics Original is a ready to use mix created with a balanced air to water ratio of porosity and water retention to allow for frequent feeding of fast growing, heavy feeding plants. For exceptional results, feed with high quality nutrients, such as the Roots Organics fertilizer line.”

Meaning that there is almost no nutrients found in the mix. You need to be an aggressive feeder.

“Ingredients: Perlite, coco fiber, peat moss, composted forest material, pumice, worm castings, bat guano, soybean meal, alfalfa meal, fishbone meal, kelp meal, greensand, mycorrhizal fungi.”

Anything coco or peat based is has no nutrients other then those things that are added. They also have superior water drainage to soil, and unlike soil you need to keep coco and peat based products wet all the time, water daily or more often.

I don’t know that I would say this about roots original. It’s definitely a little more airy than ocean forest, but also has pretty solid nutrient charge. I would expect it to feed plants for a few weeks without issue.

That being said, I didn’t really have any issue starting seeds in it either.

It’s kind of like OF but it is seedling friendly and doesn’t need more perlite added in. You can veg with if for 4-5 weeks, no nutes added, just like ocean forest but you can also drop your germinated seed in it. And it holds ph much better than OF.
