Reusing FFOF. Really is expensive!

My soil consists of FFOF, perlite, coconut coir and worm castings. What needs to be done so that I can reuse this soil. A lot of money is invested in this! Thanks.

Just make sure that your pH and PPM is under control and it should be feasible.

You can use it for a couple grows. Then you can add in some soil conditioner to “recharge” it.

That makes sense to me. Can you guys tell,”explain”, the proper way to find out the ph and ppm of your soil?

1:1 soil slurry. Get a shot glass of soil and a shot glass of distilled water. Stir and mix and stir and mix. Then let settle for 15 mins. Ph test and EC test the slurry.

Always reuse, and feed nutes earlier since the soil will be depleted. I also till/break up the soil before reusing, but some folks don’t like to do that.

This is what I did to my used fox farm ocean forest. I put the mix into black plastic bags and let it cook outside for a month or so during summer.

Fox Farm Ocean Forest 1.5 cu ft .3 .45 . 05
Purple Cow Activated Compost .5 cu ft .7 .5 .3
Coco (buffered w/ 7.5 ml CalMag) ph adj to 6.4 2 bricks (16 Qts) _
Worm Castings 2 lbs (900 - 1000 g) 1.5 0 0
Ag Dolomite Limestone 2 tbsp
Greensand 2 cups 0-0-.1
Langbeinite (1-2 teaspoons per gallon, 1-2 lbs / cubic yard = 1.77 oz/cubic ft) 4 tbsp 0-0-22
Perlite 8Qt
Espoma Organic Vermiculite 4 qts
Bone meal(phosphorous & calcium) 8 oz / 230g by weight (1 cup = 220 g ok) 2.0 14, 0
Blood meal -nitrogen 4 oz / 118g - by weight (about 3/4 cup) 12 0 0
Humic Acid - soluable (Added to recipe new mix of 6/8/20) 2 tbsp

I ended up adding it to my raised garden beds because I switched to coco and or peat.

Beardless, is all those additives expensive?

This plant is in reused hhof. all i did was water it once with my veg nutes on full strength before using. This was a clone, if it was for a seedling i would’ve used the seedling. But I also use granular myko for transplants and tribus regularly during the grow. This keeps your soil happy and full of good bacteria. The extreme gardening myko is pretty cheap iirc. Tribus is expensive and was only added to my regimine in the past month. But it’s every bit worth it. Not required to reuse the soil though.

This is in soil reused from first grow, clone of second. Soil is hhof with ~15% extra perlite added first grow. Happy frog really holds up for me.

If u have good spot where it can sit and not mold for a couple days soak the piss out of the pots with roots in still with water to wash out the flower nites let sit to dry out for a few days. I strain my dirt to rid of all the old big roots there will be alot of them lol. Then i use a good batch of veg nutes mixed up and wayer the dirt super well to get the veg nutes set in and ready if u want u can throw in some 444 to help have a bit of veg nutes in the soil for a minute lol. All these dudes have u tho.
