Red neck engineering

How’s this look. Floor vent for central AC/Heat. I can adjust the flow on the vent. Right now temp is 72 and RH is 51.

What are you using for light? May want to run temps a little higher, which would likely change where you want rh to be.

This is your intake?

The best way to know is to run the tent with a meter in it, run it all as if you have plants inside and see what your high /low Temps are.

I have a ThermoPro Hygrometer/thermometer gauge inside the tent

This is very similar to my old set up, but I would recommend to either put a T, or a space between the vet. The HVAC system won’t be running all the time, unless it will end up sucking from another room. Which is okay too. Just something think about.

Is this actually connected to a furnace or air con in your house? Like is the thermostat for your house going to turn on and pressurize this?

That’s clever!!

Yes to furnace and air cond. no it won’t pressurize it

Thank you Zee had the hose and duct fitting and thought what the heck lets see LOL

But will the furnace kick on when the house is cold and blow hot air in there? How are have you taken the HVAC unit in the house out of that ducting? I would not want my HVAC unit to my house pumping into my growroom!

Just warm air that i regulate with the thermostat. I live in the deep south. The grow room is a room off of my bedroom ( parent retreat )

Im trying to learn something here, so forgive me. I can see using the air duct to access a room of cold air if heat was an issue. I can also see using a duct to remove air from a grow room, but I cant picture a home HVAC sytem that connects to a tent functioning well without the thermostat in the tent and not on the wall outside the tent? Also the tent temperatures would then run the HVAC unit for the rest of the house right? Unless Im missing something? Like have you bypassed the HVAC unit to the ducting?
Sorry if my questions sound stupid

No there is no thermostat in the tent. The thermostat is my living room. All i did was connect a hose to that fitting in the pic and just set it on the floor vent. I live in a mobile home (trailer in AL.) Sorry if i confused you i’m just trying it to out see how it would work out.I’m going into the hospital next week for a pacemaker and just trying it out so my wife doesn’t have to worry about anything. And your questions where not stupid.

Your ideal canopy temps would be more like low 80’s. But you have plenty of room there.

Well let us know how it works out! Sounds pretty red neck… thats usually fun!

The Easiest way I have used to control the temperature inside my tent is to control the temperature in the room I’m pulling the fresh air from. You may need to do a little tweaking on your intake to get more consistent.
Happy growing !
