Recommended Ph diffrences for different streins

Ok so I have a Gelato and a Bubblegum Auto growing.both are in heavy Veg. Ph of water generally 6.1‐6.3, fresh after 3x with nutes.gowing like crazy. However the Bubble gum is a bit yellowish with some brown spotting. The nutes should be spot on but not sure why getting the yellowing on BubbeGum and not the Gelato.Anyone have any insight ?

The yellowish one of these two (closest in photo) is what I’m talking about… running side by side same nutes and conditions.

Maybe calmag def. and too much water I have those lights and run into calmag problem too tag one of the journeymen on here they’ll guide you in the right direction :sunglasses:

If youre using ro or distilled water, add some cal mag to the next feed.
Try and bring your pH a bit. pH 6.5 is ideal for soil.
Be sure your watering practices are proper. The bigger plant looks a little droopy.

What kind of soil are you in?

Have you done a runoff test? If so; what was it?

I using the recommendation on the bottle of 1 tsp per gallon on each watering. Should I try something different?

Using a non commercial mix from a grow store. No nutes in it.

I’ve been keeping the ph around 6.1-6.3. Based on you comment that seems low and could be part of problem.ill bump to 6.5 minimum. What would be max ph for soil ? Currently in “aggressive veg” per bottle, using cal mag 1 tsp per gallon. Aside from the cal mag using general hydro nutes. Flora Micro, 2 tsp/gal Flora Grow,3tsp/gal Flora Bloom 1 tsp/gal. I do 3 with nute waterings , then 1 plain water run ph adjusted down to 6.1‐6.3. Generally use My R.O. (may also be softened water before the R.O. process but not certain on that) I also sometimes use bottled delivered Hinckley Springs water but that gets expensive in Aggressive Veg and trans to Bloom. Before nutes the waters are at 8-8.5 PH. Adding nutes usually drops ph into range of high 5-high 6 depending on stage and tsp of each.

I usually water about every other day. I check the top inch of solid for dryness about an inch down, then lift the pots to see if they are light and if so I water…that’s what I am doing…please elaborate on “proper watering practices” if what I am doing above needs tweaking.

Haven’t done a runoff or slurry test

Flood/drought works well in soil. When soil is dry slowly water/feed. Keep adding water/nute solution about a quart at a time until you get about 5-10% runoff from the bottom (ie. If you’re watering each plant with 150oz, continue to water until theres 10-15oz of runoff). Then give them nothing until the pots are light again. Watering every other day is usually too often.

The bigger plant is the Gelato and she has always kinda looks that way except for very early…any suggestions on that?

I’d aim for pH 6.5 if its soil. 6.3-6.8 is decent.

Ok so I’ve been running a bit low

Yes, a little low. If you look here, you are below where calcium and magnesium are absorbed

Well it gets hot in there. I have a cloudline ac infinty exhaust fan set in auto mode to keep the humidity and or temp down at around 78-80 and I hear the alarm chirp and fan kick in all the time, without that fan it would be 85-90 in there. Been watering every other day cuz they seem to get droopy if I skip a 2nd day. Bit I haven’t been watering to runoff. But I’ll try the flood/drought going forward and make sure there’s runoff.
