Recommendations on fabric grow bags

Cool.I think that when I switch to photos I am going to start with the 10gal and any other autos that I grow will definitely be going in 7 gal. Kinda also been thinking about giving DWC a whirl

I prefer soil and being on a fixed income works great. The Fed Government don’t give us Disabled Veterans enough of a raise. We are getting a whopping 1.6% raise per month which prices have already been raised since the announcement in November. Prices will for up in Jan and around May as well.

We gave so much for our Country to only be discarded like a used wrapper from McDonalds

That is pure fold right there. I was able to smoke with my mom, dad, sister and our half brother. I’d love t be able to blaze up with Grandma but most of my direct family line is dead.

I was going to recommend these too.

If you want a true monster plant you ought to look into hydro. Soil is the slowest method IMO. Even media like coco will do a pretty stellar job in a 7 gallon.

Have you determined how much cannabis you will need to tide you over until the next grow? For actual quantity over time a SOG might be a better choice too.

Yeah it’s a damn shame the way our country treats our veterans. I have several uncles and cousins that are in the same boat. Thanks for your service, I was in the service also. I was part of the police action in panama conflict. My friends still ask me why they sent me there knowing what I did for the special forces. They don’t understand when I tell them that I can’t talk about it and I will leave it at that.
My parents were pretty cool when I was young even though they worked for one of those branches of the government that had 3 letters. I smoked a few times with my dad, who is no longer with us. They let me grow a plant in the house when I first started growing and I can remember one time when my grandmother was over she saw my plant and said, what a beautiful plant can I have some cuttings. I about fell out on the floor

@Myfriendis410 I need 1 lb or more dry. I’ve never grown a single plant by itself so the yield dry has to be high. The power bill is a major concern as we have to run the AC almost 340 to 365 days a year.

@repins12 Oh I understand all to well. I was a Recon guy myself and served from Sept 95 to Nov 04. Most of my stuff is still Top Secret. Some have been declassified like I was involved in the DoD Task Force XXI which completely change the structure of the Army. Look it up. It was a amazing thing to be involved in.

Part of our unit was in the last issue of March 1997 Time Magazine in the Science and Texhnology Section. I didn’t buy a copy because only the damn XO of our Battalion was interviewed. And he was never in the field testing what we was doing.

I come from a family that 1 male serves our Country from each generation and both sides of the family has been here since 1606. Plus they was on the same ship.

The 15 gallon bags are about 17” in diameter.

@AfgVet Thanks…I’ve already ordered me a 5 pack of the 15 gallon ones. :+1:

That’s what we’re using. Just sucks when you need to flush. That’s a lot of water

Understood. Over 90% of the stuff I did is still unknown to the general public and probably never will be. I was a specialist with a deadly skill. My dad was and mom is retired CIA, back when the outfit was actually for America. Needless to say, I did a lot of overseas travel growing up, a different country every 2-3 years. Saw a lot learned a lot growing up. That guy that just recently passed that the movie ARGO was about lived directly across the street from me when I was in Okinawa. I was in the Philippines right after Martial Law went into effect. One of the guts that my dad used to take me deep sea fishing with over there ended up being one of the Iran hostages. Most of those f**ks that they interview have never been in the field but, are more than willing to run their mouths and take credit. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

Just like all the Stolen Valor crap. Want to see some messed up people watch them on YouTube. I forgot the name of the Ex-Seal that busts them. Some of those idiots should be arrested.

I loved serving till I was severally injured. I couldn’t do anymore Recon work so the Army used a Chapter 18 aka Over weight to get me out. I could have taken my case to JAG since the Captain actually broke several USMJ Laws. Example…I was on a Profile where I couldn’t run. The rule is they have to give you 1 1/2 times the length of your profile to recover and get back into shape. I was given 2 weeks with a 1 year profile.

The Platoon Sgt disobeyed a Colonel’s order to send me back to The Rear after being injured. The Platoon Sgt had me back to work when I couldn’t. He is lucky I have never seen him because I kick the crap out of him. If it wasn’t for him, I may have been treated before my injuries to my spine got to bad. I didn’t have any therapy as well. He was that prick that would make you cringe and want to beat the snot off of him.

Just an FYI: you might want to reinforce the very top where the handle is stitched to the bag: in my experience that stitching may come loose. I poked a hole through at each point and ran a tie-wrap through it. The handles run all the way under the pot too as further reinforcement. Really well made and durable and the felt ‘wicks’ better than others. Plus, it’s NOT BLACK.

@Myfriendis410 Thanks for that piece of info. I only move my buckets when it’s time to pull the plant. I just want to give these a try to see if I like fabric pots or not.

I had a similar thing happen to me. They wanted me to go to a different MOS, I said hell no, my papers say that if I am injured and no longer can perform my MOS, they could not hold me. I was told that I could get VA bene’s and I told them, that I didn’t want them give em to my cousin that lost both of his legs and an arm in Nam, I will find a way to get insurance and a job, when I get stateside. They said that I would have a harder time getting VA bene’s once I had my separation papers. I told them to go pound sand, I will make it and don’t need it. Glad that I did seeing how the VA is operated now a days. Those fu**ers should be prosecuted.
Ain’t it funny the ones that brag about what they did, did nothing, when the truth comes out, Kinda like that Beau or bozo Bergdog/Bird Dog or what ever his name was. Sounds like we have a lot in common. Don’t know when you were born but, I was in 64. Yeah when I first enlisted and went to boot Camp at Fort Knox, I soon realized that the UCMJ sucked and you got a double whammy. I remember sneaking over to the Coppel Club after lights out for a beer and a burger and I don’t drink Beer, I drink Bourbon pretty much exclusively. Then on to Bragg and Benning and eventually to Quantico.
There are a lot of CO’s that I would love to stomp a mud hole in or open a can of whoop ass that they wouldn’t be able to get the lid back on. Especially now that I am a civi.
This is the most that I have talked about this since my separation. I never bring up my service in conversation, what I did is nobody’s bsiness, because they probably really don’t want to know and I am not at liberty to discuss it. Hell, I can’t even put the fact that I was in the military on a job application without getting a few phone calls. I have never put it on a resume except for once after I first separated. Didn’t mean to run on brother, have a great evening :v:

@repins12 I trained at Ft Knox as well. What the Army called OSUT…One Station Unit Training. I was born in 1972.

It’s all good bro. Ones that have served understand all to well. I’ve been asked all kinds of questions and I keep it simple. I don’t mind talking about what it’s like in the military and what not. But when it comes to discussing what I did, like you, it’s none of their business.

When I went to Russia for 2 months language study they have a second application you have to fill out about your service and training. I was actually scared they would reject my application just based on the weapons I trained on. I qualified Expert Marksmanship badges. Over 15 of them. I’m sure you know what I mean about weapons training. So my half brother said just put down standard military weapons.

Before I left, the house mom for the University floor at stayed at knocked on my door. She said this new guy was from the same town I was from. We talked for a couple of hours. Yeah, I concluded it was a FSB agent because I lived in a town of 25k people 300 miles away from several major US Cities.

I also qualified on the Mk-19 as Expert. The last shot was a moving target at 2200 yards. I was the only one to hit it till I think 2012 at Ft Hood. I talked to the kid down here. He said it took him 3 shots and he said another kid after him hit it. He actually came to the firework stand I was running. Nice kid…he was on leave.

Awesome. I also qualified as expert on every firearm myself, I am qualified on weapons that people don’t know exist. In my opinion that dude at Fort Hood should not be around to stand trial. I recon that you have already figured out what repins stands for. Spell it backwards. :v:

Yeah I caught that from your very first post I saw of yours. :+1::+1::+1:

Trust me I’d love to give him a beat down. But he isn’t the only one. No one believed me when I said I was in so much pain. The injury literally fubar my entire spine.

It took me almost 20 years to get a MRI of my neck. I see a NeuroSurgeon and 3 weeks later in surgery. She had a hard time cutting my skin and the damage in my neck was way worse than what the MRI showed. She had to cut through a Norse Rune just below my neck. The surgery was supposed to be 2 hours and just a 1” incision. My surgery was 4 hours and near a 6” scar. She also had problems with my huge neck…22” around.

My PC Doctor asks me what I would do when things I report. He knows I Research everything as I can access my medical records through myhealth site run by the VA.

Sorry my brother I have been through much of the same myself. I try to keep my shit at home very seldom discuss it with anyone ever. When I tell people how many different surgeries that I have had , they just look at me in disbelief and say that I function just as well if not better than them. I don’t dipute this matter. I am a survivor and a country boy definitely will survive. Some of my buddies say, well, I live in the city. I tell them country is a state of mind not an address. True Fact. :v:

I have bought the fabric pots from different vendors, one thing I have notice they can be tall and slender 5 gal. or some may be short and fat 5 gal. I have used them both. Might be good idea to ask vendor you are purchasing from for the dimensions. Good luck with your monster.
