Week 13 update:
Look at the trichomes:
I’m a bit surprised I’m not seeing any amber trichomes yet, so she’s still got a bit to go.

Week 14 update:
And for the trichome pics:
I’m starting to see some amber trichomes at this point, but not many at all. Gonna be checking daily at this point.
She looks close
I’m hoping by this weekend she’ll be ready to chop. The waiting part is the hardest part of this whole thing. LOL
I’m on my first grow so I can only anticipate what is to come. I’m growing GSCE as well 3 weeks above ground Saturday
It’s certainly a learning experience. My first grow, I think I chopped too soon. I was relying on the zoom on my camera to try to see the trichomes. I ended up buying a WiFi microscope off of Amazon (just under $30) so I can actually get a better idea of when it’s time to harvest. I also went ahead and bought some Grove bags to make curing more of a dummy proof process.
When I dried out my first grow, I let it dry out way too quickly. I didn’t even think about my fan blowing on it, and that was a mistake. I ended up with a fairly harsh smoke that really wasn’t that strong.
There’s lots of great people on this forum that are awesome with answering any questions you have. Good luck on your first grow. Do you have a grow journal?
Yes it certainly is a learning experience. Just last night I realized I never calibrated the Photon app and had my light way to close. Planning on getting a scope as well.
Here is my Journal.
Just thought I’d check on her today to see how the trichomes are doing:
Alright folks…I found some carpet beetles in my closet.
Week 15 update -
I did end up just using diatomaceous earth for the carpet beetle problem. I’m hoping that’ll end up killing those suckers. I found 11 today in my grow closet, but I’m not seeing any on my plant.
Anyways, on to my plant…
Taking a look at the trichomes:
Most of nice and cloudy, but still only a handful of amber colored trichomes (a few clear ones as well). Would have thought by now would be chopping time, but it looks like I still have some waiting time on this girl.
She sure is pretty!! Well done!!
Thank ya much!
Outta likes!! But well deserved!!
I’m curious for everyone’s thoughts - with my sugar leaves dying out, do I need to go ahead and harvest? I’ve read that when the sugar leaves all die out, then that’s when you can run into issues with mold. I don’t want to harvest too early, but also want to make sure I do this right.
I don’t see any white pistols. All are brown with some starting to recede. All cloudy trichomes. It would be ready for me, but you could wait for some amber, but if were mine, I would chop
Thanks man. My first grow was pretty mediocre of a smoke, so I’m hoping this one turns out better. Any risk in waiting for more amber, or would I end up with amber as she dries out?
If you want amber, wait a few days and check again. They will come fast. They won’t amber up after harvest
About to update my journal. Are you following? If not, I will send an invite if you want.
Definitely send me an invite!
