Ready out of the bag? Cocos Substrate

Hello everyone!

I’m trying to setup my second grow in coco coir and bought myself a bag of “Atami Cocos Substrate”. On the bag it states that it’s read out of the bag, but I always take info like that with a grain of salt

My question is, did anyone tried it?

My plan was to follow a YouTube video with rinsing it, buffering, etc. But now I’m clueless if I should, when it already has some minerals and fertilizer.

Details:
Ingredients:

Coconut fibres, mineral lime, calcium nitrate and NPK fertiliser 11-27-8

Specifications:

pH (H2O) 5.5 to 6.5
EC (1: 1.5 H2O VV) 1.75 mS / cm
Organic Matter > 85%
Weight 17.5 kg
Moisture Content <85%
Air Content (PF1) 20%
Volume 50 Liter of Substrate
Watering Regime Manually: Daily in combination with enriched nutrient irrigation water.

Automatically: 1-8 times a day in combination with enriched nutrient irrigation water.

Here is a link to a shop that sells it:

Thanks for the replies! :slightly_smiling_face::ok_hand:

I have never used it , but I would recommend doing a slurry test to se what the TDS of it is so you will know whether/when to feed!

It couldn’t hurt to buffer it yourself to confirm that it’s been done properly.
