First grow so I know NOTHING besides what I’ve sponged off this site so far.
I have 10 plants in various stages of growing outdoors and a couple auto flowers are just about ready to harvest.
I can not bring these plants in the house to dry, just won’t please my wife at all. Not that she’s against it or anything, she just doesn’t want the house to reek
I do have three outbuildings available to me, a garage/shop, a large walk-in covered and protected chicken coop and run with only one current resident and she may not be residing there much longer, and a 5X10 shed with electric receptacle, in fact all locations have power so I can have a fan to move air.
Of these 3 what would be the best of my choices.
BTW I’m in NYS. it’s usually 80*~ and 75%~ humidity.
I will be curing in grove bags in my cool dark basement, she won’t have issues with that at all.

You’re gonna want that humidity down. Whatever you can do to get temps close to a constant 60-70° and humidity 50-60%. The warmer and dryer, the quicker which isn’t actually a good thing. Shoot for an in between of those numbers with good air movement around and not directly on the buds. 75% is asking for mold and mildew.
At that humidity you will lose all of it to bud rot.
If you can install an air conditioner to lower the humidity in one that might work.
Or rent a climate controlled storage room. Im spitballin here.
If you can swing it this will solve your problem permanently.

I own the 12K BTU version of this unit and its been running nearly nonstop 3 years.
Let me just throw this in here as well. And I already know the answer but…
I do have a home made grow tent in the basement. I do have a 6" exhaust fan in the ceiling of that tent. I do have both dehumidifier and humidifier if need be for that tent.
Do you believe that the smell will overpower that exhaust equipment and be noticeable in the upstairs.
I didn’t include this as an option originally but just wanting to verify what I already suspect.
Add a carbon filter and you don’t need to exhaust outside which would smell up the area and undo the dehumidifiers work.
Exhaust the tent to the basement area and run the dehumidifier near the tent It should do the job…
Spidey man that looks to be an excellent option for next year, I’m already well beyond my budget for this year, but like I said, I’m in nYS we’re used to working in deficits.

Really! don’t exhaust to outdoors, exhaust to indoors? I don’t care what it smells like outside, we’re in the hills.
When you say carbon filter do you mean the inline 6" carbon filters, if so I also have one of those…Told ya I went over budget.
If you have a carbon filter yes, let it exhaust right in the room. All you want it to do is remove the odor.
You don’t want to exhaust dehumidified air from the room. Unless the house air is under 55% already.
Its fine to circulate it. Your not growing so it doesn’t need air exchange.
I grow about 3 lbs a year for the wife who uses it for edibles . She’s a fibromyalgia sufferer.
I dry in a different spot every grow. The smell is strong for a day or two and then gets less. Of course we may be nose blind to the smell having it around all the time. But I digress.
I figure at dispensary prices I grow over 12k dollars of product which she eats. So my investment in equipment is just a medical expense. IRS may disagree…Lol.
The basement should work for you. If you put a Airwick deodorizer type of thing near the basement door you might not have any issue at all. I grow in an office right next to the kitchen. People come visit and never notice. I have an ONA Block deodorizer near the door. Only person who ever noticed was my sister who thought she smelled a skunk faintly. She was one foot from the office door.
Thanks Spiney very much. I think I might be moving in this direction and do whatever I can to at least lessen the smell. We’ll see if it’s tolerable and go from there then.
I defiantly do not want to get bud rot and throw away all this hard work and money.
