Question on Drainage on Autos

My question is on Drainage. I have my autos in 5 gal cloth pots and I have a drain pan under plant. My question is when watering I usually what til my plant drains and then I dump water. I’m starting to check ppm but do you dump all water on just some?

I’m not sure I completely understand. I water to run off, and if my plants were in trays, I would allow the plant to siphon the water back up until gone. Unless you need to check PPM, if you’re checking that, then you could dump it.
Other growers may have a different style than I mentioned.
