There’s a modified schedule that uses MKP (Monopotassium Phosphate) for the first 3 weeks of transition to flower that gives a P, K boost. Then you return to the original schedule.

Jack’s:

3.6 g Part A
2.4 g Part B
1.2 g Epsom

per gallon

MKP for 3 weeks:

2.0 g Part A
2.0 g Part B
2.0 g Epsom
1.2 g MKP

I also use silica. No cal mag needed.

When I went into flower I had one showing nitrogen toxicity and a fellow grower here suggested switching the ratios to 4/2/1, A/B/epsom. That’s grams per gallon. Fixed it right up. Also, my plants that showed no signs of tox/def loved it, as well. Upping part A bumps the PK up, but the lower amount of part B offsets the extra nitrogen. Just what worked for me. I rode that ratio all the way to flush.

A decent gram scale if you don’t have one.

So jacks bloom for 2 weeks is supposed to slam the phosphorous for the jump I believe it is that’s what I have been using. First 2 weeks from the day of flip it says on the video from the jacks guy

Do you start the silica when you flip for flower? Should I add it last with the nutes? How often do you implement the silica? Once a week?, every feeding? Thanks bro!

@The_Chef You can run silica the entire grow if you want. I generally wait until I’ve gotten the main part of the LST done then start it. You would add the Si to the water before adding anything else. Then your Jacks, Ph that mix and then add microbes or any “living” things to the mix.

So you don’t think it will hurt anything by adding it now? I’m on day 77 of veg and getting ready to flip for flower. I’ll be doing the MPK regiment with jacks for 3 weeks, then back to jacks, recharge, fish shit.

Nah, you’ll get some benefit from it at least. It’s to help strengthen the plant for supporting them big buds, so best to have a head start but it’ll certainly help too!
It also helps with trichome development and some studies suggest it helps them to stay stuck in place even when the material is dried and cured.

I also ran my MKP for at least the first month of flower on my first run with Jacks before I flopped back to the normal schedule. According to Greengene’s schedule you can run it til the end if you want.

Thanks a ton bro! Just got some Agsil16H on the way. Should be here monday.
So GreenGenes runs MKP the whole way through? I also saw that he changes his jacks formula a little for I think mid into late flower. Something like 4-2-1?

I’ve been using Kootmeds chart as a guide more or less. I tried to get the Jacks Bloom but couldn’t find it in stock anywhere. I might try again before the next flowering starts but i still had good results without.
I was happy at least!
The Greengene’s mix is lower right corner!

Thanks for that pdf bro! I saw GreenGenes boost option at the bottom. Kinda looks like the 2-2-2-1.2 regiment but what is jacks most? Is that their version of silica?

Just making sure I’m doing it right :grimacing:
It’s my first grow and I’d be bummed if I fail now. Especially after forking out some serious cash on lights this past week :joy:

Most is like a Bloom Booster. It might have been replaced by Bloom, but it was still showing on their site back in November/December. I couldn’t find it in stock. It was kinda expensive compared to the rest of the components, so I just ran without, mainly because I hadn’t heard anything about it on here, honestly.

I try to look at the three plants I utterly tortured and butchered to death last year as leaning experiences, and not failures. Sure, I didn’t get any weed from them, but I did learn a couple things NOT to do.
Failure spurs me to do better next time!
And you got it bro! I was researching something earlier and ended up reading posts on a different forum and many people chimed in about their lack of attention to detail yet still getting good results. And that will totally work if you want a mediocre buzz from a mediocre plant with zero love or effort behind it.
Personally I won’t be happy till I get a text from a friend I gifted weed to telling me it’s the best they’ve ever smoked.
And then I’ll find a way to make THAT better!
The fact that you’re concerned and actually interested says a lot! And you’ll be rewarded for your efforts! (We ALL hope!)
If not, or if it is, we’ll find a way to make it better, or bigger next time!

Failure is that creaky step on the ladder to success.

I hear you on expense, but I started my first grow last spring, kinda late actually, and started harvesting in September. I haven’t spent a single dime on weed since September of last year. At the old rate I paid for good weed I’ve already been paid back twice for my investment.
It adds up quick!

:joy::joy::joy: that’s my goal. Never having to buy it again.
Appreciate all your help bro!

I run silica from the first feeding. Plant structure needs it and trichomes are composed primarily of silica.

Thanks bro. I didn’t know anything about it until recently lol. I’m gonna just implement it when it gets here on Monday.
