So a week ago, I topped my ladies (in 15gal smart pots) with a few inches of seafood compost. Problem is it’s fairly fine, and after watering gets hard and compacts, doubtful much air is getting through the top. I was wondering if it’s advisable to breakup the compost, and mix in perlite?
