Qb 288 board help

So I have three QB288 boards and 2 drivers that I am finally setting up. I plan on one driver for the middle board and one for the outside boards. Ran together or separately if chosen. I started this last year but have had some medical issues so I had to shelve it. I hooked up one board with drbn32 s help last year to see if it worked and blinded myself temporarily lol. I used 12 ga solid wire but it seemed to big for the slots in the board. First question is what ga wire should I use. I plan on having them set up by the end of Jan. Then I will start my soul build for a grow starting in April. Maybe earlier depending on weather. Thanks all

18 gauge solid core wire is recommended for the terminals on the boards.

What are the two drivers? I see hlg-240h-c2100, that is good for 2 boards, is the other hlg-120h-54?

I also use 18awg solid. Typically available in 300v or 600v insulation, either will do. You just want to be careful not to use automotive wire, its only rated for 50v. Home depot, Lowes, etc won’t have what you need.

I actually talked to you about this last year. One driver for one board and one for the other two. I have enough space for three as seen in the pic. The two outside will be on when it’s on. The one in the middle will be on a switch. This build was started last January. And is still a long way from finished because I’m an over analyzer.

Edit. Both drivers are the same

I don’t think the hlg-240h-c2100 will run a single board properly. Not according to data sheet anyway, but the numbers there may not be the whole story either.

I feel like I remember that discussion, but also been a lot of others between then and now.

You think I could relocate the driver on my hlg 650r? I have no experience with this.

Ya, you just need whatever length of properly rated wiring and connectors. Probably some YouTube videos that can walk you through it.

Seems daunting! I guess the other HLGs are running meanwell drivers, but the 650R is running inventronics? Same thing in theory I guess.

Right side

I think I will either sit this one out or find an electrician lol

I’m aware that you have had plenty of discussion on this with countless other members. And I’m extremely grateful for the help you gave me last year and now this info. I was originally gonna run 4 boards with two drivers in a 4x4 tent. One side of a 4x8. But that tent is way to big atm. So I decided on a couple runs in a 2x4. I thought you said it was fine on one board but optimal for two. Please don’t quote me as my memory is not great. So if I run it that way will it damage the board or driver or be unsafe in anyway.

I don’t think it will damage anything, but I don’t know that driver will power single board to illuminate it properly. Meanwell lists minimum forward voltage at 59v. I’ve never seen what they will do in undervoltage condition that close to meeting minimum requirement. Usually board will flicker, but it may not come on at all.

Thanks. I’ll do some more work and we shall see I guess.
