Purple trichome stalks etc

Evening people,
Couple of questions: First time Auto grower.
Originally I was worried about purple stalked trichomes on my 10 week old "Ace Killer OG Auto. After further reading, my concerns were diminished.
I’d say it’s about 6-7 weeks into flowering. Unfortunately, the plant is only about 12 inches tall. I gave it 48 hrs darkness as I was thinking of harvesting after I returned from a weekend getaway. Now I really don’t think it’s quite ready from the amber trichome percentage. Will returning to normal lighting hours be an issue if I let it continue to mature?
Regarding the clawing, tried several remedies. May just be old age.
Appreciated, thanks in advance…elliot

Somebody can chime in, but, i think with 48 hours of darkness the trichomes start to deteriorate and the plant starts shutting down. You might be able to wake her back up but youll be a few more weeks behind. @merlin44 @OGIncognito @GreggT @Autos-only @Covertgrower @Myfriendis410 @Audiofreak @Mosca @Graysin

Thanks for the tag @ChittyChittyBangin
I can’t add anything useful as I have minimal experience with autos. I have never tried that with a photo period plant either. So really no help at all.

Not the science answer, when their ready, thats to your choice of color in trichs. I think a plant still works for you if photosynthesis is happening. I like norm

I don’t think it will harm it at all to put back under lights.

True, although terpenes tend to go up.

She’s an auto, she won’t really care much.

The plant goes through a sort of stress when we throw it into 48 hrs of darkness, but that’s potentially a good thing in this situation.

On Bugbee’s advice, I don’t do the 48 hr dark. :v:

It’s no worse than the electricity going out. 1 time won’t hurt.

I stopped doing dark period also because of Bugbee. Old school myth IMO… The trichomes seemed to have more gloss to them without dark period. I do try to harvest about an hour after they wake up.

I stopped doing it too. I have seen no difference just chopping when it was convenient to me.

I have as well. I also wait till an hour after light on to give em a chance to wake up before i start harvesting

@ChittyChittyBangin I appreciate the tag!
Sorry I was so late, I unfortunately don’t have much to add, I don’t do extensive dark periods.
With that being said I don’t believe any harm would have came from it as long as parameters have been within an acceptable range.
I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t keep running a couple weeks or decide to chop. Totally up to the individual.

I like dr Bruce, sometimes I’ll put an ear piece in and listen to him at work. A lot of knowledge right there.
