It’s time to access your plant distance to your lights. Once your flip to flower cycle 12x12 photoperiod they will probably stretch another 12 - 18 inches.
If you are going to use a lattice then nows about the time. If you are not going to use a lattice then it may to time to flip them to flower so you’ll have enough head room in your tent.

How many plants (12?) and how much space. Height?
Rule of thumb is 4sq ft / plant - 48 sq ft. I would grow four in a 3x3 which 2.25 sq ft = 27.

18 plants in a 6x14 grow room,9 foot cieling. The plants are 14-18 inches tall.

Yes im going to use the lattice, just trimmed and topped this morning. Was thinking another week or 2 before flipping. This is only my second grow. First was auto , wanted to see the diffence between auto and photo. Tia

TY my friend. All the plants I topped on my most recent grow have turned out better than the ones I did not. That being said I topped them early like 4th node. I defoliate the whole time. With a big defole about 2-3 weeks into flower and then at week 5. But taking a few leaves everyday to keep them opened up and light getting down into the canopy!

Everyone does things differently some people say to leave the big fan leaves some people say to pull them off I think they blocked the light from getting to new budding sites. So I pluck them off as long as it’s opening up a new shoot or a new site

Sounds good , thats my kind of thinking too, the big leaves just block to much light. I was wirried because the big leaves had a purple stem as the other ones are green. As far as the topping it was my first time doing that. Thanz for the info.

A little room left to move in.
How do you manage runoff with that many plants. Living soils or automated catch system?

Nice to hear from you beardless. I have the trays for under the plants and yes gets a little crowded. Luckily the platform is on wheels. Think i’ll cut down on plants for the 3rd grow maybe we’ll see how it gows. It’s a full time job most of the time.

You said it for sure.

What node did you top them to? My last grow was my first photo grow and a I learned a few things. I topped 3 times and did LST. I did a good job spreading out the branches but they still got super tall and I wish I would have flipped earlier. I had 4 plants in a 4x4 and it was way too crowded.
On my next grow my plan is to top 3 times and leave the fan leaves but pull/cut every growth tip on each main branch. No side shoots off those branches.

I was thinking of waiting to flip the plants to flower. I have a 9’ cieling in my room.
