Pruning during flowering

Can i safely prune a few leaves during the 1st few weeks of flowering

Yes you can. Most people defoliate before flower, and throughout the flowering stage.

I still have a couple fairly large fan leaves that really take away from lower buds. I have always taken off what was needed a little bit here and there. Was worried about shocking them at this stage.

Fan leaves can either be tucked under that flower site, or completely removed. I’ve done both, and removing it didn’t seem to hurt it any.

Cool, thanks for the info.

With my current girls in flower I did a defoliation after their second week in flip, this is when I took clones as well. After another couple weeks I pick and choose fans to remove along with any that are blocking light to other bud sites. I also removed any and all fan leaves with any issues.

I usually take off the lower yellowing ones, the ones hidden inside, and anything blocking a potential bud. Just a few each day. That is just me but you are connected with knowledgeable growers with much more experience.
