Prune smaller branches

I have a few healthy outdoor plants that are about 4’-6’ tall at the moment (June 22). There are a few smaller branches coming off the lower part of the main stem. They are doing OK but I don’t know if they will ever produce decent buds. Should I just let them grow or would it be better for my overall yield to prune them away?

Hi there. might as well take them off and give super power to the upper.

Okie dokie. nice and healthy. you seem to have good airflow to them. I usually take off 1/3 of bottom to give it the extra push. Others will chime in to give you helpful hints.

They look good. Seem healthy and fine. It’s just a matter of personal preference. Personally, I abhor the trimming and larf. I top or fim, then lollipop extreme.

Wagner,

Thanks. Your plants look great. Is your photo from June and what size planters are you using? Do you think it too late in the season to lollypop or FIMM my plants? It appears that my plants are a few weeks away from flowering.

If light reaches them, leave em. They’ll still produce. Outdoor is different because the sun penetrates deep where our indoor grow lights fall off after inches.
