Hey everyone, here in Virginia there calling for heavy rains for the next 5 days. I’m worried because I have a huge trainwreck plant that is currently about 6 weeks into flower. It’s in a 20 gallon pot so I can move it if need be. My options are, cover it with a pop up for the next few days, put it in my garage with a four bulb T5 fixture on it, or just let it ride and get rained on. I’m kinda worried putting it in the garage may stress her out and cause her to herm. Any ideas? Thanks.
If I was a little closer I’d probably do the same. I lost a couple plants last year due to bud rot. Supposed to be getting the remnants of that hurricane for the next few days.
I’d rather throw her in the garage with as much light as you’ve got - protect her from the moisture and elevated humidity. Bud rot is going to be infinitely more damning than a few nanners. And frankly she’s far enough along that if it’s just her, I wouldn’t worry too much. She’s not going to live long enough to make viable seeds anyway.
Edit - make sure you shut the lights off and turn em back on every 12 hrs.
Kinda the route I was leaning. I’m gonna set my lights as close to sunrise/sunset as I can get and weather the storm. I’ve got a set of 4ft T-5 fluorescents I can use and some smaller led grow bulbs I can use for supplemental lighting. Would hate to lose 6 month of work this close to the finish.
The hurricane last weekend finished our area for this year. If the wind and rain didn’t take them then the mold did within 48 hrs of the storm.
Be my choice. But Just Make sure you’ve got a good amount of air flow on her too.
Mine got by 4 days inside with just day light thru the windows till we got the power back on.
They’re Under hps now.
Good luck with yours .
Yea I’ll definitely put a fan on her. Hopefully once the rain stops she can go back outside to finish up. Only a couple weeks left here before I’m expecting a frost. She’s already starting to turn purple. I’m assuming from the cooler temps.
