I have a 4”vivosun carbon filter and fan blowing into my tent as low as it goes. My infinity 6”carbon filter exhaust fan is on 7 and my tent is blown up like a circus tent. Options? Doesn’t do it when I have my vent flap open, but I closed that bc my humidifier is right there and I was getting too high humidity in lung room.
That shouldn’t happen do you have the 6” blowing the correct direction?
You definitely have positive pressure. Leads me to believe you’re pushing more fresh air in than you’re fan is pulling through exhaust filter. If this is an old or used filter I would check the exhaust filter and see if it might be plugged. Good luck
Yeah and it’s brand new
It’s brand new, that’s why I’m thrown off
Verify the direction of the exhaust fan. Remove the 4 inch inlet and seal the the tent including the inlet for the 4” vent. Turn on exhaust fan. If tent blows up then it is in backwards.
I have a 6 inch exhaust just like yours and use a 6” passive inlet. My fan on 2 draws the sides of my tent in.
I don’t use a intake fan I just use exhaust fan 24/7 with pass through hole open at the bottom pulling in fresh air in. Usually around medium speed on exhaust fan with negative pressure inside tent controlling all odor and also pulling in fresh air at the same time exhausting Hot stale air out. You might turn intake fan off just to see if you can control negative pressure in tent without it, as a process of elimination. Good luck you’ll figure it out.
Ok, just checked that, fan has arrows on it, I pulled both ends off to verify direction. I’ve been using it for maybe a month, I took the sock off (To wash) and it seemed to help a bit.
Maybe read through my manual, maybe it doesn’t provide full power if temp and humidity are within its automatic range. But I feel air blowing out, the carbon filter I’m using for intake(temp control), is standing up, does that make for more pressure coming out of it?
Thank you, I just invested in two hlg260 rspecs, so my viparspectra is out of the tent now, I believe that was hearing my girls up a bit. Would put my temp at 85(high) and now I’m 78 with new lights and added intake fan. I even opened my vent on my tent and it still is a little puffy
You’re going to love your new lights I have two of those. Crank up exhaust fan to a higher speed see if you can overcome positive pressure and get into the Negative Zone. If not very possible to have odor issues. Also don’t discard your other light that’s a very good veg.light.
You’re carbon filtering the air entering the tent?
Only bc I bought too small of a carbon filter the first time. Figured better than sitting around. My thing is I’d be scared the pressure would increase even more without the filter on the fan lol
It sounds as though your exhaust fan isn’t keeping up.
If you turn off the intake fan, and only run the exhaust fan, does the tent then bow inward?
Yes it does. And I feel a nice breeze coming out of my 6”exhaust. I guess maybe I’m just surprised a 4”vivo is literally blowing ac infinity 6” out of the water. That is vivo on lowest and 7 out of 6”. I guess the carbon filter does have more medium to go through. I just hate to run my 6” full blast, I’ll have to figure out a timing schedule for the 4”.
Figured it out…I’m a dummy, had my 6” outlet duct going over a wall through floor joist, and dumping into the next room, well other side of the wall there is an I beam, great to hide the 6” duct, but when you don’t double check yourself, you will put the end of the duct right against the ibeam, causing an obstruction. I know that last sentence was a run on. Thanks for all advice. Much appreciated
May all your issues be that easy to solve.
Hahaha! I did see a nat in one of my pots. Ironically I bought this cheap ultrasonic pest controller, and plugged it in the day before. Haven’t seen any since, read do peroxide, mix 1 to 4 water mix and it kills the eggs. Also, have neem oil on order. It’s always something, but it’s worth it.
If you have a fungus gnat infestation use BTi, ( Bacillus thuringiensis var. Israelensis) It’s available on eBay in a pure form (about 2oz for $15), or its also in “mosquito bits” but slightly less pure.
This will eliminate fungus gnat larva and fungus gnats within 2 weeks without harming your plants, the roots, or the microbial biome in the soil.
Good deal ! you will sleep good tonight.
Thanks I’ll look into getting that
