Pre mix chemicals

Can I premix my chemicals? Growing in hydro. @peachfuzz

No. Each should be added separately to the water to avoid chemical reactions that will change and irreversibly precipitate your nutrients.

@WickedAle is correct…
You need to mix your nutrients in a specific order so that they don’t lock one another out or knock one out of suspension in the mixing process…
What nutrients and additives are you using?

When I said premix I ment add to the water and have it ready when I change out my water. I’m using armor si, CalMag, flora Micro, Gro and Bloom and Hydroguard. I put them in the water in that order

Needs to remain aerated or it will stagnate. I prepare fresh at time of change and add water in between changes.

Copy that. I had a water pump in the bucket circulating the water all night. I unplugged it this morning. If I’m going to premix should I put an air stone in also? @WickedAle @peachfuzz

You should because mixing isn’t enough to keep it aerated, but if it’s 1 day you may be able to get away with it. Keep it out of light.

I put a lid on it. I’ll add an air stone also.

Think this pump is big enough for my pre mixed nutes? Also have a pump that turns on every hour for 10 min. Can’t find my other bigger pump. It’s 3 gallons.

Should be OK. I was thinking you had a bigger pump for all of your plants.

In my grow bucket I have a bigger pump. It’s in use right now. @WickedAle I need to find my other one. Right now I have 2 plants in one bucket. I’m going to separate them in a month. Put each in their own 3.5 gallon bucket.

@dbrn32 haven’t seen anything. When I get home today I’ll check. The nute mix that the plants are currently in doesn’t have the armor si in it. The batch I premixed does. Which I’m changing out on Saturday

Ok. Those two don’t usually play well together.

I mix my nutrients this way: (Mills nutrients)
Vitalize(silica)
Calmag
A
B
R or C4 or PK
Boost or rhizotonic
In this order

@Serginho2535
I’m using General Hydroponics. Armor Si, CalMag, Flora Micro, Gro, Bloom and Hydroguard. Mixed in that order. I wanted to premix my nutes and water so on water change day it a quick process.

I know it’s young but I have these little orange spots on 1st leaves. Anything I should worry about at this stage?
@Smokinnuggs @peachfuzz @dbrn32 @WickedAle @Screwauger

I have no experience in hydroponic system @DrNoobThumb

I wouldn’t worry to much…
What’s your ph and ppm…
For young plants a usually run in between 50 and 150 ppm and a ph from 5.8 to 6.4… :wink:
:v::sunglasses:

@peachfuzz ppm is about 400. Ph right around 5.8. I’m using half of the recommended GH recipe
