Has anyone run into buds not being as potent as getting it from a dispensary or somewhere else? I feel like I’ve done all the steps correctly. Waited to harvest, dried it for 7-10 days, open mason jars every day for 15 minutes. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.

What strain did you grow? Everything I’ve gotten from ILGM is legit fire.
I usually buy from ILGM, but this batch I just finished was from in house genetics. Waited to mid 10 week flower to cut it. Dried for about 10 days. Than opened jars for 15 minutes a day for about 2 weeks. Maybe during the growing phase I messed up, but the flowers looked really nice before I harvested

Yeah all buds aren’t created equally. You chance that every time you grow. I think you are being impatient though. I had similar concerns my last grow but 4 months later I was more than impressed. Let it cure more!

I’ve heard of an occasional odd ball in a group that doesn’t really produce trichs and terps. How’d it look under your scope? Did the seedbank have reviews on the strain? How long has it been curing for?

Really appreciate the advice! Do you use hydrometers inside your jars to see what the humidity is? If so if they get bellow 60% would you stop opening the jars? I heard 55% - 60% is what you wanna aim for than stop opening them.

Before I harvested, it had mostly cloudy trichomes and some amber ones. Is there a thing where you can over dry after harvest? I usually leave them in the tent to dry with a AC at 60 degrees and a humidifier at 60% for 10 - 13 days. I’ve been curing them for about 2 weeks now in mason jars. The ones with a humidity of 55% - 60% I don’t open, the others ones I do for 15 minutes a day. Thank you for the help

Those hydrometers are inaccurate.
I open the jars daily for 2 weeks when I use jars.
Look into grove bags and it’ll do all the curing without having to open things up

Best thing to get is a wifi microscope.
Keep an eye on trichomes, to be sure your not chopping to early
All plants aren’t equal, even from the same genotype.

Appreciate the advice! I have one of those, but I guess I don’t have steady hands to get a clear view lol. Would it be ok if I cut a leaf off then use the microscope to check it out or should I use it on the plant itself only?

My first harvest in Oct was following this route. Mixing with commercial allowed me to buzz.
Still smoking, but only need commercial to cut my kief for smoking.
Buds still being in jar and burping with flavor savor nuggets added as they mature.
Definitely never planned on jaring for 3 months, but it is worth the wait.

I see a couple hygrometers at 50 and 55 you need to keep it between 58 and 62 for proper cure below 58 stops curing process. There fairly accurate

I too, have a set of five that are 5degrees too low, perfectly reading in unison.
The others are better. Burping and Integra BOOST 62% packets in play.

When I first put them into the jars one or two were around there. I think I over dried them to be honest. I think I dried for about 13 days. I’m gonna let it go to 10 days at most before putting into jars next time or just go straight into grow bags once trimmed.

I start smoking my buds as soon as they’re dry and I’m trimming. The initial impression always leaves me wanting better or thinking I could have did better. 3 weeks go by and I start liking the smoke. 3 months go by and I start loving the smoke. By the time the end of the jar comes around I’m thinking why tf didn’t I veg it longer or take clones.

I have some plants in veg now that I plan on taking some clones for the first time so while the originals flower I got some in veg already. I’ll have to give an update a few months for now to see if the ones I already cut gets better. I was disappointed cause I had a buddy come over to try it and he wasn’t really impressed lol. Took me like forever to grow those plants

No you didn’t. I’ve dropped buds while trimming only to find them a month later in the tent. They smoke better than the stuff curing

Same thing happens to me every single time. Come back in 30 days and say you bought it from the dispensary and sulk in the glory
