70 days old, planted in FFOF with added perlite. Started in 2gal transplanted to 5 gal dec. 30. Haven’t added any nutrients and its 1 week into flower. Ph is 6.7 temp. Ranges from 60 to 75 RH is 45%
This girl is 43 days old from germination and is planted in OF with added perlite. Same temp as other tent (60-75) and RH of 50% started in solo cup then went straight to 5 gal with no added nutrients since sprout. Ph-6.42 ppm-1059
I use same soil had same issue. I was told it looked like a cal-mag deficiency. Started cal-mag immediately and cleared it up quick.
Pretty plants, I don’t see anything to worry about.
If it were a cal-mag issue (which I have some if it is) could I foiler spray or would it be better to give em some next watering
I have grow currently that’s very similar. Same soil similar ppms. No nutes added. Noticed slight discoloration and then small brown spots. Started cal-mag and discoloration stopped. I don’t believe it would hurt to start cal-mag. As far as foliar I’m not sure about.
Cal mag won’t hurt the plant. I’d avoid any foliar spray other than for pest prevention/mold prevention. Just water it in. If on a feeding regimen I add it during water only days. Likely if in FFOF you are experiencing something else like windburn from a fan or such.
Ok thanks for the advice
I see multiple white specs on all the pics. Have you examined them with a scope?
What type of water are you using?
I have not looked at them with a scope but have one for looking at trichomes later on, as for water I use reverse osmosis
I figured you were using RO or distilled. When using RO water, calcium or magnesium issues often appear. Since the water has been stripped of everything.
I see a little magnesium def here and there. Maybe some calcium def. No real worries, it’s common and easily remedied. Just try to clear it up before flipping to flower.
You can use just Epsom salts for the magnesium, or cal mag to cover both.
Personally I add cal mag at each watering until about mid way through flower, (since I too use RO ).
I’d take a close look at those specs, and look closely under the leaves too.
You think I could have a pest problem? I noticed your fan leaf in the picture to the left has holes in it as some of mine do too and dont know what would cause this besides bugs eating away at it? This is my first grow so I still have alot to learn
It could be wind burn/abrasion. Do you have some strong breezes from fans? Magnesium def. will weaken those areas and make them susceptible to falling apart.
I’m not “sure “ you have pests. Foliar sprays or falling debris can leaves specs like that. A close up inspection with a scope will make it clearer. That’s a close up of your pic btw.
It’s best to closely examine anything that looks “off”. Better to treat early.
Welcome to the forum. First grow or not, the people here will help with just about any issues you encounter.
I have 2 6inch oscillating fans which can get pretty windy in a 3x3 so I’m guessing it’s that mixed with some mag deficiency. Its winter where I live so I doubt its bugs but will take a closer look
Ha, I’m in VT. It’s winter 9 months a year here, but I still found aphids last week… ugh.
That’s unfortunate, moved from FL a couple months ago and the weather is kicking my ass haha
