Any one who collects pollen do you have a pollen sifter? I am looking to pull the pods and run over a sifter to colllect pollen a little faster. My feminized plant pods are so tight I have to remove them and am extracting the pollen over glass right now but it is timely and thought a good sifter would speed things up a bit. What is the screen micron best for collecting pollen?

I have not done much of it or a lot of volume but this what I did to get a feel for the process. I ran it through 2 or 3 screens. 1 screen is actually a kitchen screen you set over a frying pan so oil doesn’t splatter out. It is fairly fine meshed and fits nicely over a large bowl. I’ll used an old credit card and slide it over the screen and also tap / vibrate the screen. Collect the debris on top of the screen. Screen it again or discard or use for edibles. The I use 73 and 120 micron bubble bags. I slide the 120 over the bowl and tighten it over the bowl the best I can and sift what was collected in the bowl from the first screen. I then run what is collected in the bowl through the 73 micron bag. What is in the bowl after this is light in color and really clean. You don’t want to beat it up to much in the first screening. If you do you end up with more plant material. I also tried freezing the bud first. It is supposed to make the trichomes break off easier. I not sure I could tell the difference. FWIW

Why do they refer to trichomes as pollen? They are not the same things? Perhaps the original intent was to sift pollen from male flowers? Must be it?
I use the Harvest More Trim Bin. The armrests are really nice to have when you have hours of trimming to do.
This is the one I ended up getting. Paid for itself already. I had hardly any pollen from the Matanuska #2 as it was super time consuming to get any at all. Today I went in and roughly knocked the open pods off the buds onto a piece of glass. Then I put a glass under the screen and poured the pods on the screen, rubbed lightly ar ound the screen , tapped it and they bounced around a bit, then a razor blade on the plate and got about 3/16th of an inch in the vial. 2 mins!!!
New way to collect pollen quickly
They work great. Use dry ice and dry weed for best results. It only takes a few minutes so watch for color change. I use a heavy duty grinder for buds and use about an ounce per load. Good Luck.
Pollen is a commonly used word trichomes usually means pot. It might be stealth so only pot people will be hip to it. ? The machine can be used for both and the trays also. It’s legal here but some places its a bad thing, really bad.
