So, it’s about to be 32 degrees 5-6 days and my plant has already been through temps like that at night and it’s fine. You can see the trichomes clear as day and the white pistils are pinkish and brown and yellow, the sugar leaves are nice and crystally, and there’s yellow fan leaves on the lower part of the plant. I’m creating this because I need to know if I should split the stem in 5 or 6 days and begin that process and harvest, ORRRRRRRRR should I push through the cold weather at night till I get to November and then split the stem? I’ll try and post some pics. Ive done the stem split well drilled holes in the stem in multiple of spots on one plant. That plant did go a little longer than the other plant sane bean but was double the size i did notice a huge difference in the taste now is that because i did the stem or because it went a few weeks longer. Im not really sure as these are my first plants i harvested. I would like to know more about this stem splitting technique.
That’d be from going a bit longer IMO more so than doing the stem split.
The longer time allowing the terps to develop fully.
Some folks do it and some don’t.
It’s supposed to increase the trics due to the stress caused to the plant.
But in the last few days before harvest there isn’t enough time for them to ripen for any real benefit.
They won’t load “because they’re too big” somehow but they’re just pics from my phone…
Fewer at a time might help.
1 at a time let’s us zoom in too. And in natural daylight if you could.
And the check mark was there when I was trying to post them. It sucks because I’m trying to show y’all what I mean and to see if it’s ready.
The trics on the smaller plant were nice and milky some amber. Sane with the big plant. The plants were way diff in sizes i started 1 and it got outta hand before i knew about the flip before it get to big for the spot. So i went from a 4x4x6 tent to a 4x7x8 room because the one outgrew the tent lol. It was double the size. One was just over 3 feet the big one was almost 7. When she came down. So splitting and drilling or whatever us kinda a myth about it shocking it to get the finals going faster and harder
Like I said, this is my first ever successful plant.
It does give a few more yes but Not really much benefit in the end.
Sooooo…??? What’s your point? Split or don’t split? It obviously works. So it’s not really a myth. This is my only plant till next year and I need to be EXTREMELY careful and certain and precise on what I’m doing.
If u do split it its not gonna harm it. I did 1 of mine and not sure if it did a difference or not. It wont hurt for u to try it if u want. Most it will do it better the tastes and smells. I did mine 2 weeks before i chopped her just drilled 3/16 holes by every spot i could get a hole to all branches without making the branches weak to break. In the main stalk only i did. It didnt harm it at all but i really cant say if it did any better or not. Its all on ur thoughts from here. It wont hurt tho if u want to. Last 2 weeks only or atleast the last week
