Plants are 12/12 for almost five weeks and still no pistils

Welp. This is a something I never have experienced in ten years of growing. I’d consider myself a seasoned grower. Pretty much have seen and encountered most if not all pests and diseases. This one has me baffled.

I flipped my trees into flower roughly 5 weeks ago and they have yet put out white pistils.

Normally after they stretch and by week 3 the white pistils are visible. It hasn’t happened yet. I’m kinda in shock. I have checked and triple checked my environment throughly. Watched my trolmaster timer come on at the desired time and go off at the desired time 12-12.

My humidity is 60ish. My temp is 75ish. My canopy is 2 plus feet from HID lights. I’m in coco and I have noticed that the plants are not eating as fast as they normally would. Normally In coco they are dry and hungry every day. They need a daily feeding. These pots are wet and stay wet.

Now the plant has not really showcased any symptoms that would indicate a pest or a virus. They are busy and green. Stalks are healthy and thick.

I have an RO system in place. The only thing I can suspect is that the well water has a strong rotten egg smell before it hits the RO system.

Can too much sulfur in the water be causing my plants not open up and flower?

I’m confused and lost. I attached some pics. Multiple strains of hybrid/indica. Normally 9 weekers

Strange. Here’s a copy and paste about sulfur excess. Didn’t look for long but it’s all that came up: “Sulfur Excess: High levels of sulfur can increase the salt content of your growing medium. An excess will accumulate in the soil and cause salt damage to your plant. How to Detect: Leaves may turn dark and growth will be stunted .”

Maybe you’ve had salt buildup from the sulfur and it’s damaged the roots. Could be why they’re not drinking properly. I’ll leave it to the pros though. Hopefully you get it figured out.

Forgot to post this earlier. You’ve already addressed some of it, but if you can answer the questions in this support ticket it’ll help the pros help you figure out what’s going on.

  1. Indoor or outdoor? - size of grow?
  2. Origin of seeds?
  3. Regular, feminized, or autoflower?
  4. Origin of water. PH, EC/TDS of source water?
  5. PH and TDS/EC of if mixed solution?
  6. Grow method? Soil, Soil-less, Coco, Hydro, Aquaponics. Please explain.
  7. Nutrients or fertilizer system used.
  8. What typr of lighting are you using? LED, HID (MH, CMH, HPS), or Fluorescents? Please elaborate.
  9. What are the temps in your growspce? Day / Night?
  10. What is the RH = relative humidity in your growspace? Day / Night?
  11. AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier?
  12. Do you have a Ventilation system? Size? 4", 6"?
  13. Co2 Yes / No?
  14. How long have you been growing?
  15. What budget have you set in order to grow successfully?
  16. If you grow hydro, then please explain your hydro method. DWC, R-DWC, Ebb and Flow?
16b. Size and temperature of solution in reservoir?

I’ve read more but don’t have an answer. Not male. Light and timer working correctly. No light leaks. You’ve checked and rechecked your set up. Temp at 75. May be too cold during lights out?? IDK (see support ticket). Anyway, I’m stumped. So please answer the questions above and I’m sure someone here will help you out.

What nutes and regiment have you been using? If it were me, and if it were 2wks after flip and still like that, I’d wonder if I had too much nitrogen, and not enough mpk …but yours is so far past that, I wonder if its stuck in a situation like @Outlaw mentioned. I’d certainly FLUSH to get some readings, andsome kind of reaction from her… Careful for hermie though.
Not even a preflower Pistol on her is weird

May offer some insight to this high strangeness

I’d try a thunderstorm or two. You could try 24 hours of darkness then back to 12-12 then 24 again and back to 12/12 to see if that jolts the system.
Give them some extended time to build up some flowering hormones.

Thanks for the response. Just using Athena balance core bloom and cleanse.

My EC going in is 3.0. My runoff is 5.0 ish which Athena said is totally normal.

No preflowers. I have multiple strains in there. On week 5 and nothing. I’m baffled. I’m just wondering if my water has anything to do with this.

Wish I had an answer… Sorry.

I see alternating node spacing so they should be sexually mature enough to flip.

Id check in at supposed lights out n make sure all lights are actually going off. Timer malfunctions happen

Some of the stuff I read said try a longer dark period by an hour or two. Others said don’t. I was hesitant to suggest any action because idk what the root cause is. Not drinking as they should just adds another layer. OP knows more than so do about growing indoors based on experience. Be interesting to see what’s up here.

I haven’t tried this product but something to checkout.

Bloom FLORIGEN 300 ml

From a job long ago I learned a bit about well water. Based on the smell the other culprit could be high iron. There are iron reducing bacteria that produce that smell. Not sure what effect either iron or the bacteria may have on your plants. Give it a google and also check out shock chlorination of wells.

Up dark to 16 a week and see if they trigger.

Which strain is it?

Cat moved my timer and darkness was gone for a day.
All good now, Cat gone, now.
