The sprout is the tap root and it should be facing down when you plant it.

Thanks mate. It took longer than expected to prep and 2:34AM and I have 60 to plant.

I think there are some that put the tail up to "make it work harder. The root will work it’s way downward either way, I believe it just takes an extra day or two to sprout.
