I had 2 orange barb beans. The first seedling didn’t make it. The second is developing very strangely. The 2 sets of leaves you see (with one being much higher than the other) is the plant’s first set of fan leaves. The growth you see developing near the stalk, but appearing to be coming out of the stem of the lower fan leaf, is actually the plant’s main trying to grow out. It is curled and struggling to straighten out. It is actually wrapped around the stem of that lower fan leaf. I don’t think this one will make it either.
Gotta get up some different pics if ya can. Looks like she’s growing towards a light placed off to the side. LOOKS…all kinds of wierd S happens with these flowers. definitely something that she’s trying to tell ya…
Maybe she’s simply trying to watch porn on the puter, that be my excuse. LoL
lol. She’s been directly under the light in a covered seedling tray. Her siblings in there are doing fine. The other orange barb bean had some serious problems too, but didn’t make it this far.
It was a freebee from another seed bank. I’ll see if I can get a better pic of that main that is trying to emerge.
grow it out and see where it leads… some genetic mutations can be gems in the long run if they pull through… just go easy on it and let it ride…

I do have some mystery seeds that were all effed up… poor germ rates small plants, weird leaves… 
I would have always pulled them, but I was short of plants at the time and a few people convinced me to let one live, after I pulled the other… and from that these really long heavy colas have formed, way more than I would have ever predicted, not saying its going to happen with weird plants but, you never know…

there would be a lot there… , its not a bad idea, baby genetic photos then yield… 
that happened on the one in question in my grow… and was the reason I was going to pull it… amongst the other reasons… 
then these colas started and just kept going… still growing up… white pistols at 10 weeks… ill be home in 6 hours…

you never know how they are gonna end up but can be cool to see the crazy growth structures
There’s like 2 or 3 different pictures floating around with buds growing out from the rachis just like that instead of a leaf. I’ve seen plenty that have topped themselves as well. I mean we as a site obviously see it all with the higher probability but it’s still ridiculously high odds I’m sure. The topic is a great idea for a thread.
these are the ones that have been defective in so many ways… way better then I thought id do… … couldn’t find any leaves with pistols
put it in the bin and get some proper seeds… I would say. Would most probably be a waiste of time and resources that could and should be used better.
