Plant done flowering?

Please see photo below. Notice how many white pistols she has. Shes been flowing since January and has changed much all month. I never seen anything like this as white pistols are straight but red hairs are curled. Anyone have any thoughts? Is there any hope? No progress since a month! The only thoughts i have is maybe i defóliated too much but last time i trimmed it was flowering fine. This is a fem chronic widow. Any thoughts?

I’m only new here but so far everyone has told me.to wait till most of the white hairs turn brown and shrivel up then its time to start watching your tricomes. Have u got am jewelers loupe? Or microscope or even just a magnifying :mag_right:glass??

Try and either reduce light output or decrease light hours.

This will hopefully tell the plant to finish.

I was thinking that. Maybe going down to 8 hours of light instead of 12. I dont know what else

I do have a microscope but no way its close to ready. I harvested 10 plants of this strain 2 months ago not sure why this one is such a late bloomer

What are tricomes?

Tricomes are the sticky stuff that forms on the outsides of the buds. The good stuff lo @JD01 ull start to see when flower hits ur plants

Check the trichomes to find what part of the harvest window you’re in. I use a simple magnifying glass and it’s worked fine for me. If they’re clear and “glassy” it’s too early. Milky white with bulbous heads puts you in the middle of the harvest window. Milky white with some amber/gold is the back side of the window of harvest. The pistils tell only part of the story. Sometimes if the light source is too close or the plant was stressed (too much defoliation) the plant will still produce white pistils when it’s actually ready for harvest. Check your trichomes and if they’re milky white/amber you just have to make a decision and chop pistils be darned. Hope this helped. Good luck!

Yeah i was thinking maybe thats it. If this is the case than im going to have weird buds to harvest. I really hope not.

Is it a photo or an auto…?
12/12 should finish it off…
But maybe you can drop to a 14 /10 , 14 off and 10 on …

Yeah its a photo. Thats why ive been so patient lol. I switched to a 9 - 15 schedule lately but the top is in better shape than the bottom. All red hairs are curled so im thinking of checking to see if the trichomes are amber. If not, and i hope not yet lol… but if not, ill continue to stay patient with my new light schedule lol

You still need photo synthesis to happen in order for the plant to finish…
I wouldn’t go any lower than a 14/10 schedule…
Plant may not get enough dLI…

You can always selective harvest…
Chop what is done and let the rest finish …

True. Unless bottom buds are amber, id like to chop the top plant and hopefully itll help speed up the bottom

Yup unfortunately i just checked and they are all amber. Either too much light or too much defoliation like @Jdwrong said… but hey… theyre still dense buds and i harvested 10 others of this strain fine 2 months before… you live and you learn

Most leaves were pure yellow and on the top cola were a little brown but not much. Good thing you mentioned to check trichomes because not all were amber but definitely enough to scream “harvest me now”. I just harvested this and after trimming the pistols sticking out they look really nice dense buds

How big of a pot did you grow in? And yep your theory was right on the money in my scenario haha. Definitely a big help!
