Plant and pot size

Starting my first grow with 3gal as intended size. Too small?

I think the main factor in determining pot size is how long the plant will be in the pot.

Bigger the root bigger the fruit

Photos or Autos?
3 gal fine for Autos
Photos they can work too if you don’t veg too long.
In general the larger the pot the larger the plant.
Autos are special as they will ripen when they want to not when you change lighting to 12/12 like photos.
If photos I use minimum 5 gallon pots.

If you do go with a 3 gallon make sure and feel it all the way to the top. I personally like a 5 gallon better. Good luck

Like I said new to this so not fully educated. Learning though.
What nutrients should I be using?
Are the temps and humidity going to be too high for growing?

The zone you are in is also relevant. When is the end of your growing season in your area? In my area, photos started now wouldn’t get very big, if they even finished because outdoor plants here are getting ready to stretch for flower. I could start some faster maturing autos here now, but some wouldn’t finish in time, seeing as I only have a little over 2 more months of growing time left.
If you’re in an area like mine, where you’ll harvest at the beggining or middle of October, 3 gallons for autos would be fine. But if your growing season is longer, 5 gallons might be better.

Zone 8b. Frost free growing ends Dec 6.

With Autos the 3 gallon would be fine as they have a finite life unlike Photos
Good luck
