Hay buds.
I got a question to tempt my expectations.
My grow tent is 1x1x2 meters tall and I will equip it with a new LED light I just bought which I got recommend by @dbrn32. He was a great help, if you guys have questions about light just always ask him.
The light I bought is a 320 watt qb Xm and is suitable for a 3,5x3,5 place.
Now to my question I got 2 seeds doing really good and already being transplanted and 4 more on the way. As I bought them on their data sheet it said they will grow up to 1.00 - 1.40 meters and will have 600-650 g/square meter. Also I have 10 seeds laying at home waiting to be germinated but I’m waiting for more information so I won’t germinate and have no use for them. The data being said :
What can I expect? What yield can I expect?
How many plants should I put in a tent like this ?
Thank you for the help. This question is stealing my sleep lol.
Your results are going to vary a lot based on plant health, environment, growing methods, and how well you execute. At least, I wouldn’t expect to automatically meet breeder suggested harvest data. Especially on your first attempt in a new space. I think a setup like that is capable of producing a pound dry in the right hands.
You’ll have to decide how you’re going to grow to determine amount of plants to run. With short veg time and a little training you could do 4 pretty well. With different methods more or less could make more sense.
Thanks that gives me some security
Yes I was thinking of 4 or 5 so should I got for it ?
I would love to meet that Pound goal and I’m willing to train for it.
Grow methods are still pretty new to me
@MattyBear@dbrn32 will probably say the same but for a first grow it’s WAY easier on the grower to do only 1 or 2. I guarantee there will be issues to overcome; you will be adding and subtracting stuff in your grow space and experimenting with different configurations etc so it really makes sense to do a run where your stress level isn’t too high to begin with. Once you have gone through a grow or two you will have a much more intuitive feel for what the plant wants and should be better able to read the plant during it’s life cycle.
Okay yes I will consider doing just 2. I don’t know what I will do with the rest of which I already germinated but 2-4 sounds good for me.
What about grow methods anything I need to know there or can I just let them grow and try to get a feel for them ?
You guys are all big plant growers lol. Matty’s tent is smaller, and there’s 4 with floor space and just chopped 8 from there. Granted, it’s not his first rodeo in there either and that’s always something to consider.
@Verdant It’s just so much more difficult than saying you can do one, or two, or 20. How you grow them will make all the difference. 6 is not great from seed. But since you already germed them you can try. But for a first grow i thought 4 on 4-5 week veg and flip would be pretty manageable in the space.
Myfriendis410 has very good point about more plants you run, the more work it’s going to be. But the biggest mistake i feel new growers make is not understanding different methods fully. There’s always ifs, ands, or buts about every method. Always! It rarely works out to plan one way, and then decide later you’re gonna do 3 other things.
If you want a good yield from your space you need a full canopy. To get a full canopy it takes either veg time or plant count. If you’re gonna run long veg time you need bigger pots and to plan on longer overall time to harvest. If you want to run more plants then smaller pots are in order and you’re gonna trade the time for the hassle of navigating multiple plants. I’m not in the business of telling anyone what is best for them, usually haha. It’s a lot easier to tell you what will work, because the list of things that don’t jive together is much longer.
Yea okay good. I got the time to spend work hard for a good yield so I’m open to do a longer veg time and bigger pots aren’t a deal for me. My dad has them raining from the sky lol. He was a grower himself some decades ago. Lol
Okay first thing i noticed is I will have to do a sheet where I write down how long they are growing and in which state they are I will do this tomorrow. Second thing I noticed and TBH you noticed yes I have no idea of the methods lol. I really want to learn them and getting 4 plants sound good to me. I would love to spend time in there because somehow this new hobby catches me and I cant stop thinking of it. I think I would go to a date with my first buds lol.
Would you mind explaining me some methods.
My idea is 4 plants and then longer or shorter veg time what’s your suggestion ? Sounds good to me to hear what will work. I think since you know what I decided you have a easier time giving me tipps right ?
I feel like I asked you out like non stop lately sorry for that
Thank you for the help. I really want to get a grip for that.
As far as growing methods, there’s no shortage of them. If you plan on doing 4, i would recommend looking at different types of low stress training. If you implement a little bending and things go ok you can plan on sending to flower sometime maybe 5-6 weeks after sprout.
Okay nice sounds good. I willl send you my setup as soon as I have set it up.
I’m so excited man. Hopefully I won’t be tended to sleep with my girls in the tent.
