Planning ahead…if I had to leave right at harvest, is it possible to just turn off the lights and let the buds dry out in the dark while the plant is still in soil, until I get a chance to chop and properly dry?? Anyone have experience with this? How long could I leave them?

I would cut and hang with leaves on plant and remove pots from grow space. From there will depend on relative humidity and temp of your space. Warm and dry plants could dry in as little as a few days. If you can keep around 60f with 60% humidity probably 7-10 days.

There is a grower here that dries on the stalk. I thought I tagged his post but cannot find it. Sorry.

I always hang the plant as a whole… set my dry space with humidity control and come back 10-14 days later and never have a problem. I like to hang when I’m on a vacation. I try to time my grows based on my life or the wife gets
