I’m pulling in outside air for my tent. The humidity bounses from 50% to 75%. Should I pull air from my airconditioned room or leave it as is. Help please. First timer indoors. I have a small de-humidifier inside the tent but it doesn’t stop the bounce.
Are you in veg or flower?
In flower no more then 40%humidity …
In veg it shouldn’t be a problem to bounce around but not over 80% humidity…
Try to keep your humidity below 70% as this will maximise the efficiency of your carbon exhaust filter as well.
Thanks everyone for your input. I would still like to know if pulling in outside humid air in is better than pulling in ambient air conditioned air where the humidity doesn’t top 50%.
Its humid where im am & going into flower. A small dehumidifer wont do the job. Youve gotta have one that dehumidifies the entire room your tent is in. Lord i tried the small one with a lot of grief. Your a/c would better to draw into your tent as you said humidity is high.
Thank You so much Laurap, I think you nailed it. I never thought about dehumidifying the entire space outside of the tent. Wow the things you can do when you put multiple brains together.
I’m going to take your advice and dehumidify the entire space. In the meantime I’ll remove my duct from outside air to the conditioned air inside the space. Thanks again.
I’m in Veg. but not for much longer I think. Thanks for responding peach fuzz. I think that I have the humidity problems under control now thanks to all of you folks. But maybe you could help me with another query. When should I send these girls into flower. They are 8 weeks beyond sprout. I haven’t figured out how to put a photo up yet but maybe if you know, give me the rule of thumb for an indoor grow. Thanks peach.
Hey @Gspot to post a pic after you hit the reply to type look at the tool bar the arrow up with a line under it is the upload button.
Also to tad someone when asking a question use the @ before the user name
Like I did yours
It really just boils down to how much room you have to grow in… plants can double or triple in size after light flip…
Your call my friend…
Thanks so much @Nug-bug. Yea I figured out the @ sign but thank you so much for the upload info. Thanks again
Thank You very much @peachfuzz I really appreciate you and all of the folks on here helping out. I’m fully aware that all of you folks have a limited amount of time and I really really appreciate every one of you.
Thank You very much @Nug-bug I tried it and it worked. I’ll put a pic up now. I have a total of 80" inches in tent so about 60"of headroom given the room needed for lighting, fans, etc. I have about 45" left of that headroom given their height now.
Thank You very much @mountainman1 I really appreciate you and all the folks here for the help and hospitality that all of you have given .
I would be changing the light cycle now. They will stretch a lot after the flip.Whilst it might seem productive to fill the entire space you may be better off with smaller plants that use the space well and have good light saturation as opposed to large plants that block light from lower branches. Your light will only penetrate the canopy so much, so I would keep them small and keep the lights as close as possible without burning.
Thank You very much @mountainman1 I really appreciate the information and I agree with you. One concern that I have though is that I haven’t flushed yet. I don’t know how important that is but with all the research that I’ve done indicates that it’s a big deal . I’m new at indoors and haven’t grown at all since the seventies and that was outdoors in the ground not in pots.
Assuming that I can get around flushing or even if I do flush I have two questions for just a short answer if you can. 1) how long do I need to flush? 2) when I change the Ltg. to 12/12 do I need to do it gradually or just change it at one time? Thanks again @mountainman1 I really appreciate your thoughts.
Also I agree that the space is crowded. Next grow will be done with a lot more knowledge than what I had when starting this one thanks to all of you good folks out there helping. Thank You so much.
@mountainman1, sorry about dumb flush question. I was thinking about going from Veg. to bloom. I’m going forward tomorrow with changing to 12/12. Thank You @mountainman1. If you see anything wrong with what I’m about to do please call me out on it if you don’t mind when you have time.
sorry mate just got home from work, No need for a flush right now unless the plants are showing signs of excess or deficiency. Your plants are looking great so nothing to worry about. The switch from veg to bloom is usually done instantly and once changed shouldnt really be manipulated further. Think about when is the best time to care for your plants and make sure its lights on during that time. Dont interrupt your dark cycle and everything should be sweet. Following along @Gspot
Thank You very much @mountainman1. Your expertise, patience, willingness to share your knowledge is so valuable to all of us. Thank You so much. The flip starts today.
