This is a godfather OG that I’m doing outdoors. I always grow indoors, but trying this outdoors. It is on day 27 from breaking ground. It’s 17”. Does this look normal for an outdoor plant? Seems kind of like long internode spacing to me, and wondering if I should FIM it now? Godfather is mostly indica.

I’ve only grown outdoors now for 3 years. Some plants do that and others don’t. I chalk it up to the strain. I top or fim any time after the 5th node.

It’s working on its 8th now. Do you prefer FIM over top, or vice versus?

Yes, I have a very small grow this year (4 plants) and I topped 2 and fimmed two. Fimming is harder for me to get right but I think I did both ok.

A favorite of mine.I’ve grown outdoors since Moby Dick was a minnow.My advice for you is to pinch it back and create more cola sites.It will make your plant shorter and wider.
After your GF finishes,give it a lot of respect.,it hits hard for most overachievers.Definitely a nighttime so you can sleep smoke.enjoy
Seems like I’m in the minority here, but I don’t believe in topping plants grown outdoors unless you are trying to control the height. I think the plants need to grow naturally like a Christmas tree to get maximum sunlight to the bud sites. Keeping the plant small and compact won’t get as much sun as tall and stretched out.
