Orange growth on top

One of my girls has an orange colored growth. Does anyone know what this is and should I be concerned?

It’s hard to tell in the photo, but it looks like a bug. Maybe spider mites? I would get some neem oil and spray the plants right before the lights go off (make sure to also spray back sides of leaves).

It was so tiny I couldn’t tell it was a bug and then it moved, so it’s dead now. Thanks!

Guttation maybe? Do you water plants at or near lights off time?

If root zone is wet when stomata close it can cause pressure within the plant. That pressure can result in little sap like balls forming.

This is interesting. I done a google search and learned something new.

If I’m wrong, at least you picked up something.

As I mentioned, seems to happen semi often when plants are watered at end of light cycle. If you were doing that could be the case. Try watering around lights on.

It was a bug. It’s gone now.

I water early and put the girls outside to soak up the sun. They’re still young and its been chilly here at night, so I bring them in at night. They’ll go out after July 1st.
