Well, as promised, transplanted to small pots.
Time for an update I think. Today is the first day I switched to flower. Lights out was from midnight to 6am, but changed the timers last night so September 30th is day 1. Was planning on switching earlier, but weekend got a little crazy and, well, here we are.
Man u are doing a smashing job bro they look amazing and u filled out ur net wonderfully
Just wait til u switch and when they stretch omg they are gonna get huge
Thanks man. I’m a bit concerned about vertical space, but we’ll see what happens. I don’t have much more space to raise the lights, but I do have a 2nd tier net that I can put in to keep them contained a bit more after the stretch. Exciting times.
Hey w.e it takes to get the job done
Alright, 1 week since the flip. Screen is filling out nicely, I think.
Could use a bit more advice on a couple things. Here are some pics, the questions will follow:
how long should I continue training to the net before just letting them go vertical?
it is getting pretty bushy under the net, I assume that I should be trimming the low hanging branches, but not 100% sure.
if I should trim lower branches, how much of an opportunity should I give them to reach the net, and how long after the flip is it still ok to cut branches?
You can cut branches, but defoliate anything below the net. Your net is full enough, and you could flip anytime.
I would mush the net down a little farther.
Ok. I actually did flip 6 or 7 days ago.
I will try to push the net down a bit, but I had to tape some things into place to block light from creeping in from the propagation 1x4 that is a part of the tent; the clones in there are on 16/8.
If you think it’s crucial, I’ll do it, otherwise I think I’ll leave it.
When you say defoliate anything under the net, we’re talking nothing but bare branches under the net? Sounds self-explanatory, but just want to be sure.
If you intend to leave the net, then try to defoliate and trim the bottom 1/3 of plants. Some may still stretch up to the net, so consider that while trimming under there.
How high up is the trellis net?
They look awesome.
About 18 inches from the top of the pots
Looking great bro nice
23 days since the flip to 12/12. I keep training to the net and it has filled in nicely.
I also have defoliated quite a bit under the net based on advice from @Covertgrower. I should probably do a bit more?
Also, is there a point that I should stop bending under the net and just let them grow?
Overall, it seems to be going as planned.
Looks pretty good for now. Keep an eye out for large fan leaves at top of canopy and small suckers at bottom.
Looks magnifico brother Gordo u can stop and let them grow upward now cuz they are gonna start their stretch and u should get a nice yield off of them bud let them lower colas come up through now
Ok, 31 days since switching to 12/12.
Hoping to get some thoughts about whether I should adjust the current nute mixture.
When you look at the pics I’ve been following the feed schedule exactly and also adding 5ml/gallon of the Calmag.
Some leaves are looking like too much nitrogen (I think) but not too many.
I’m leaving it up to the maestro’s not up on issues yet sorry.
The clawing of the leaves would confirm too much nitrogen. The nitrogen in your nutes + the nitrogen in calmag is making for too much total nitrogen. I’d flush and then reduce your max grow by half while you are using calmag. If a flush is not possible, I’d go water only for a couple waterings before resuming feeding, still with reduced max grow while using calmag.
